Blumhouse latest found footage horror follows teenager Emma Drakeford, struggling after a recent family tragedy, who begins a video documentary about her life for a school project. Everything goes crazy when a terrifying virus sweeps through her small town, turning her friends and neighbors into vicious monsters. Quarantined with her family, Emma believes they are out of harm’s way but when the contagion finally infiltrates their home Emma and her family are faced with an impossible decision – if someone you love becomes a threat, do you kill them in cold blood or save them at the risk of your own life?”

Last I heard Abigail Breslin was going to star but that was almost a year ago. I don't think she's still attached.

It's Blumhouse, so there's a decent chance the date is going to move, but for right now it's February 19th.

Sofia Black D’Elia and Analeigh Tipton are starring now.

This one should've been awesome as a traditional effort. The found-footage aspect severely lowers this one overall.
Do illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup?

Some people are like slinkies: not good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one falls down the stairs.

It is now being promoted as a limited theatrical release, but it still doesn't have a poster, which makes me a bit suspicious that it's going to be pushed back again.

It's no longer getting a theatrical release, which isn't all that surprising.

I'm not shocked that it's going the VOD or being released on iTunes or whatever but I am still incredibly excited for it because it's reminding a little of Quarantine and I love Quarantine.

Not sure how I feel about the poster. It reminds me of a more vibrant and colorful version of The Strain's first season poster.

Apparently it's being sent to VOD July 29th, to DVD on August 2nd, and is not found footage.

Yeah, it's definitely not found footage. I watched this the other night and enjoyed it a lot. Robby LOVED it, which is really random. I thought it was just slightly above average. Nothing incredible but not bad at all.

I really liked the sisters. They had some pretty great scenes together and their relationship felt mostly genuine and wasn't overly forced. I like that the younger, more "Mary Sue-y" sister wasn't the one who was in the most interesting, scary situations. I still liked her but the older sister was more entertaining and realistic (though she had questionable taste in men - seriously, that guy was hot and all but he was really obnoxious and gross). This needed a few more characters but we got more than I expected (I thought we'd just get two or three but instead, we got twice as many and more onscreen deaths than I thought it'd have).

It was surprisingly violent at times which was definitely appreciated. The quarantine aspect was handled well. I was really disappointed that Michael Kelly had such a small role but his character was still really important and I liked him. The pacing was near perfect. Nothing felt totally rushed and it never slowed down too much either. It was nice that I didn't start watching this until 7a.m. (I had been awake since noon the previous day) and I never felt like nodding off. (lol) The last fifteen minutes or so are a bit predictable, saved by a couple of well timed deaths/scares. The final scene was decent I guess. I don't have any complaints when it comes to the effects.

5.5/10 quality, 7/10 entertainment.

This was alright. Nothing about it was bad, but I don't think there was anything too noteworthy about it. It's a little bland. Of the movies that Blumhouse has dumped on VOD, this is the one that I can most easily picture playing in a movie theater. There doesn't seem to be an obvious quality issue. I think they probably just waited too long and realized it was really similar to Fear the Walking Dead's first season.

I agree that there were more kills than I was expecting, and I liked all the bloody scenes. The body horror was restrained, but I liked all of it. It was more off-screen, but it had really good ideas. Small pieces reminded me of other movies, but added up to something different.

I liked the cast quite a bit. Michael Kelly was a good pick for the dad. I like Analeigh Tipton, and I always think that she has done more horror than she has.

I didn't like the ending, but no one thing stands out as being the reason that it didn't work. I think it struck the wrong tone. It could have been bigger and had more action, but they also could have focused more on emotions and the characters' relationships.
