This shit’s gonna go viral.

ScreenDaily was the first to report on V/H/S Viral, which will complete our V/H/S trilogy.

We’re excited to reveal that the latest installment of the franchise features segments directed by Marcel Sarmiento (Deadgirl, the incredible The ABCs of Death segment “D Is for Dogfight”) ), Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes, Extraterrestrial), Gregg Bishop (The Other Side, Dance of the Dead), Todd Lincoln (The Apparition), Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Resolution, Spring).

“V/H/S Viral focuses on fame-obsessed teens who unwittingly become stars of the next internet sensation.“

Justin Welborn and Emmy Argo are among the cast.

Marcel Sarmimento, TJ Cimfel, Dave White, Gregg Bishop, Nacho Vigalondo, Justin Benson, Aaron Moorehead and Lincoln wrote the screenplays.

Epic Pictures Group will commence sales in Cannes. Epic sold the V/H/S franchise in Berlin 2012 following a suitably controversial tee-up in Sundance that year when several audience members fainted during the world premiere.

I can't say I'm all THAT excited since these directors really haven't impressed me (yet) and V/H/S 2 was a massive disappointment.

I still haven't seen V/H/S 2 but if it's on Netflix I'll watch it today.

But I have no opinion on this atm.

Im pretty sure its still there. Since this is coming, you might as well give the second one a watch. I still prefer the first.

Yay for V/H/S though. Hopefully it'll be more like the second instead of the try-hard, lame, Jackass-ish first one which only had one good short.

The framing story sounds bad, but those have been the worst part of all the other ones, so I'm not really surprised.

So much social commentary though. (coffee) I wonder how it'll be handled.

Oh please Derek, the second was terrible compared to the first. I wish more people would see that. (cry) And the frame-story sounds like a wannabe-Scream mess. Will people STOP with the whole "Waaagh wagh internetz and da quest 4 fame turned our generationz into monsterssss!?!?!!!" bullshit.

Its been tired for years.

I hate V/H/S so much (one of the worst movies I've ever seen) so I'll let my IMDB friend explain my thoughts in a nutshell:

V/H/S was one of the worst films I've ever seen; a horror film for the Jackass/YouTube generation, it consisted of nothing but drunken idiots behaving as obnoxiously as possible, then getting killed. Everything about V/H/S was completely inept in every conceivable way, and it truly boggles my mind to think how a film so completely devoid of plot, characterization, suspense, or atmosphere could possibly be considered scary by anyone.

And zombies with bike helmets and glowing eyes
Spoiler: click to toggle

And cameras strapped to a dog while a bunch of annoying cockblocking children get sucked away by laughable, men-in-suits aliens.
And a person with half his head blown off give us a thumbsup.

Those things are better than what was featured in V/H/S? Lolk...

The only good segments were the first (with the eye) and the one with the cult, and even then the cult one turned into a damn mess by bringing

I have a hard time comparing the two. When the first one was bad, it was absolutely horrible. V/H/S/2 didn't have any segments that I liked as much as my favorites in V/H/S, but their bad segments weren't nearly as bad as the bad ones in V/H/S.

My thoughts pretty much.

V/H/S/2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> V/H/S.

Do I really want to watch the 2nd one so I can chime in? I've heard it was awful.

I really didn't think any of the V/H/S segments were terrible except for the godawful frame story (the VHS2 frame story was a bit better, I'll give it that). Still though;

Amateur Night > The Sick Thing That Happened To Emily > Second Honeymoon (all in 1) > Safe Haven (up til the last few minutes) and that one with the eye transplant (both in 2) > Tuesday The 17th > 10/31/98 (both in 1) >>>> Both frame stories and the other segments in VHS2.

They both have their ups and downs but overall, I thought the first was the much stronger film.

No, I wouldn't really recommend it.

Is it weird that the only director that I'm sort of interested in seeing a segment from is Gregg Bishop?

I'm surprised lol. My boyfriend and I are the only people I know who didn't care for it much at all. And he HATED it.

I only know who one of them is and that's because I watched that mostly terrible ABC's of Death. His segment was one of the better ones. Some of them were downright atrocious.

Yes. That one was surprisingly effective.
