But in allowing demonologists, necromancers, and various practitioners of the occult to try the deepest and darkest spells and rituals on him, he unleashes a horrifying force. As he journeys deeper into the occult, he discovers that some questions are better left unanswered.

Why doesn't Marvin ever post about movies...on a movie forum? (wary)

Glad you enjoyed it, and even happier to hear that its pretty violent too. I'll check it out but obviously I won't be able to see it just yet.

He didn't post because something happened that night that caught him in a really bad mood so I didn't bother him about it.

Who is Michael King? (lol)

I wanna see this since Michele liked it. I love the poster, so gross and cringeworthy.

This was really rather good, especially the first half hour. I liked the lead actor a lot, especially since the make-up for his possession was really subtle, so it was mostly acting. There's quite a few good character actors in minor roles. It's a found footage film, but it's filmed like a polished documentary, which makes it pretty unnoticeable in a lot of scenes. It mostly takes the Paranormal Activity approach of having cameras positioned at a variety of angles in the main settings. It still really strains believability with some of the things that are being filmed that required the main character to still be filming with a handheld camera while possessed, but it still worked okay for me. The middle section of the film has some pretty bad scenes, and it tends to go for the obvious scares and the typical possession scenes. The beginning section where he is meeting all the "experts" was really great, and the last half hour is gory enough that it kind of balanced out for me. There were three really pretty gross bits.

So I ended up LOVING this for the most part! O_O

I liked the little home movie at the beginning even though it was really obvious right away what happened thanks to the giveaway sound of

I felt kind of bad for Beverly the card reader when Michael freaked out on her even if he was in the right to an extent. It was kind of pretentious and douche of him to be all, "If my shit works, the world can step forward and have me to thank", pretty much. (un)

The story of the guy turning his back on God after what his father did to him was also really effective. Unlike many mockumentary Horror films like this, the random interviews with one-scene-characters were mostly great.

"I ordered a demon summoning kit of the internet! ^_^ "

Michael had a pretty nice body. (yum) The demon's description kind of reminded me of the main antagonist of Sinister with the whole 'eater/taker of children' thing. The scene where

"I...don't want to be dead." (shock) !

Erica grabbing Michael during the spirit channeling scene made me jump. A few other jumpscares came VERY close to getting me too. The scene with the vocal range/recordings/etc. was also really cool. Hurrah for the hypnosis scene too! It was also really refreshing that unlike many films like this, it didn't focus too much on the exorcism aspect and when it did it was still effective since

Jordan left a little too early. Feeling up Beth while she slept, eek! The "crawl" bit with the blood, eek! And I love that the house got more and more dark, gloomy, and trashed as the film went on. The ending was pretty satisfying but nothing unpredictable and I thought the end credits were pretty cool.

VERY good and I feel 'meh' for ignoring it (sort of) before now!

7/10 quality, 7.5-8/10 entertainment.
