Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

Talk about him and his career as here as long as it doesn't fit into another thread in this section!

A small piece of inside info came in Tuesday evening as we’re exclusively told Wes Craven is getting way more involved in television production.

On the heels of the “Scream” pilot getting underway for MTV, Craven is said to be close to signing a deal with NBC/Universal Cable to produce TV for NBC/Universal cable outlets including SyFy channel.

Craven, who is the mastermind behind Freddy Krueger and A Nightmare On Elm Street, and the director of Scream, has produced a handful of horror features including remakes of The Hills Have Eyes and The Last House On the Left.

With the rise of the genre on TV, it’s pretty exciting news that one of the icons of horror will be lending his talents to the pool of small screen content that’s in development.

I have never really been all that impressed with his work, the decline from his early years to more recent offerings clearly show his to be a product of hype, legacy and luck (I choose all three factors to explain his popularity) so although he has a lot I would say are at the very least above-average to enjoyable, there's still not that one big effort where I can really say to be a flat-out fanatic about his work.

1. The Serpent and the Rainbow
2. A Nightmare on Elm Street
3. Scream 2
4. The Hills Have Eyes
5. New Nightmare
6. Scream
7. Cursed
8. Shocker
9. Scream 3
10. Scream 4
11. My Soul to Take
12. The People Under the Stairs
13. The Hills Have Eyes Part 2
14. Chiller

I think that takes care of his true horror output minus Last House on the Left, his thrillers or non-horror stuff was never viewed to begin with and probably never will.
Do illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup?

Some people are like slinkies: not good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one falls down the stairs.

I wonder what happened to all the TV projects he was a part of before his passing. Are they still underway or what.

Miss him already. I wish we had gotten at least one more fun action thriller like Red Eye or another teen horror flick. I loved his teen horror flicks, man.

Hi everyone. On my YouTube channel, I did a Retrospective & Tribute video for Mr. Wes Craven, a 30-minute video where I talk about his 40-year career as a director and the movies he has directed, and me concluding the video with my tribute to him showing my appreciation and admiration towards him and how he has become one of my all-time favorite horror directors and an influential idol. It's not exactly a perfect video, sometimes I sound a bit monotone, but I do hope you like my Retrospective/Tribute to this "Master of Horror". ;)

My Wes Craven Retro/Tribute video:

Also, my personal tribute to him would begin at the 27-28 minute mark on the video.
