![]() "Outkast (stylized as OutKast) is an American hip hop duo formed in 1992, in East Point, Atlanta, Georgia, composed of Atlanta-based rappers André "André 3000" Benjamin (formerly known as Dré) and Antwan "Big Boi" Patton." |

I remember when "Hey Ya" was EVERYWHERE lol. Never really paid too much attention to these guys, though they don't sound bad or anything. |

They're pretty damn good. "Hey Ya" isn't really an indication of their sound as a whole and I'd recommend checking into them if you're at all into hip-hop artists that experiment with other genres. |

Hey Ya was Andre anyway, and not Outkast. They did that as a spin on their sound and individualized the artists (Dre and Big Boi) instead of a regular album. It was different, but it worked out. I've seen them live and they were fucking amazing. I can't explain this in type but they were performing and Andre fucked up and dropped his microphone right in the middle of a line and Big Boi literally picked right up and went on with where the lyrics were going and rhymed the whole thing with, "and Dre be droppin' his mic." Amazing. I wonder if it was scripted. |
