Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

What are some Horror films that are pretty triggering? Don't be a smartass and list off a million slasher titles. Its a no brainer that people get stabbed to death in those.

List off films that involve certain things that people may want to steer clear of, such as;

- Rape
- Child Abuse/Molestation
- Self Harm and Suicide
- Drug Addiction/Overdose
- Anti-Gay Behaviors/Slurs, Transphobia
- Racism/Slurs
- Terminal Illnesses
- Animals, Children, and Elderly People Being Harmed

I suppose that'd work. Like I said, either mine or AJ's works the best. They're the most organized and least time consuming. Totally fine going with AJ's.

I've seen all of these movies, if anyone would like more information.

Slaughtered Vomit Dolls (2006): http://w11.zetaboards.com/All_Things_Horror/topic/8710301/1/#new
ReGOREgitated Sacrifice (2008): http://w11.zetaboards.com/All_Things_Horror/topic/8710302/1/
Slow Torture Puke Chamber (2010): http://w11.zetaboards.com/All_Things_Horror/topic/8724809/1/

It was just too difficult to write something about these films, because they are full of images that may be triggering. If you have triggers related to eating disorders, self-harm, suicide, rape, abuse, body image, or bullying, I would seek out more information before watching the films in this series.

You can add Slaughtered Vomit Dolls, ReGOREgitated Sacrifice, and Slow Torture Puke Chamber to Body Image and Suicide/Self-Harm.

Nice work though, Vanessa! (yes)

I'm down for either method. I would say the more extreme titles should be a given with their content; but I sometimes forget that even the hungriest of gore hounds have turned down or have been turned off by things like A Serbian Film and Salo because of their more morbid content.

Can't you see it? The effects of cinema violence on society?

I had just listed some from the movies I've watched this year. I went ahead and added them to my little list. I did my best to come up with something better to put for the little description in the Body Image section to match the other films.

I added a few more films to my earlier post, since it's still on the same page. It's a bit less work that way.

I'm curious to see how this ends up being handled overall, but I feel this is a great idea for certain users.

Should there be a "master" post where people contribute instances in their own posts and the master is constantly edited?

Everything in my post is alphabetized now.

I've added a few more films. I also did some general warnings for The Grudge and Tomie series. I ran into the problem with The Frightened Woman that everything in the film could be triggering, so I just put a general statement in the areas it would fall under.

I've just been tossing everything with questionable consent into the Rape and Sexual Assault category, but if it would be more helpful I could split it into some sub-categories, I can do that, too.

I don't see the point in racism, rape, unnecessary gore, and unrealistic deaths like in some of the Final Destination films!

Oh trust me, there's stuff out there that's MUCH nastier than the Final Destination films. And all of those things can serve a purpose in a film.

I updated it again with several movies. I finally thought to have the thread open when I'm watching a movie, and it was just in time to watch The Hills Have Eyes.

Thanks so much Vanessa!

You can also add House of Wax (2005) to child abuse.

I added it. I'm still editing the post, so I can add stuff from The Hills Have Eyes Part II.
