Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

...you love Blood Lake? Boring mess.

Wrong Turn 2 and 4. Chromeskull: Laid To Rest 2. There's quite a few others but I want to make sure they weren't given limited releases before I list them :P

Oh, you're right, 2 got a REALLY limited release, and then 3 was direct to video.

Ah gotcha. Oh well, they still mostly count anyway since pretty much no one saw them in theaters and the second was probably only in theaters for a week at most :P

For the last few years, all of my favorites have been either very limited releases of direct-to-video. So far, I think only three of my favorite releases this year have shown in more than 150 theaters at one time: Snowpiercer, Oculus, and Under the Skin.

From 2005-2011, I had no qualms at all about stating the Sci-Fi Channel's original creature features were the best horror films being made in the entire genre. While that has dropped slightly, those are still appointment viewing to the point of rearranging my social life to watch them and have not missed one from their start in 2002 up until the present day. There's just far, far, far too many to mention here.

I'll definitely throw Curse of Chucky into this mix as well, maybe rivals the original in terms of pure enjoyment.

Should also mention that since a lot of you seem to mention VHS, I'll mention that I haven't seen part 2 and part 1 is one of the worst ones I've seen. Hardly any of those segments were any good and every single one of them was flawed massively.
Do illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup?

Some people are like slinkies: not good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one falls down the stairs.

Counting limited releases, I'll throw in The Town That Dreaded Sundown (2014) and The Taking Of Deborah Logan. Both of those really impressed me.

I'd say Curse of Chucky, but it's a little underwhelming. I much prefer Cult, as you can tell from my previous post.

Anyway . . .

Leprechaun 3

I'm having trouble figuring out some others, but I'm good with what I have right now.
