Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

Pretty cool site I use. It shows you the differences of different versions of films released. Gives you a great insight on workprints, Unrated versions, and how much studios and companies take out and add in.

Can we start using this thread to talk about interesting bits of movie censorship, because I can't think of a better title for making a new one than the title this thread already has?

The Uninvited (1944): The studio insisted that a few shots of ghosts be added to the movie, because they thought audiences were too dumb to figure out there were ghosts if they couldn't see them. (They actually look pretty good. I've seen worse in movies from the 80s.) When it was released in the UK, the censor made them take out the ghosts. The critics there praised the movie for being brave enough to be a ghost story that didn't show the ghosts.
