I always used to watch Wrestlemania from way back in the 1980s and part of the 1990s. When it got to the 2000s, I stopped watching cos it got... well... nasty and totally violent.

I still have my favorites from yesteryear.

I was such a huge wrestling fan back when I was a boy! I watched WWE when it use to be called WWF, WCW Monday Nitro with the NWO! which means NEW WORLD ORDER! even though most of it is fake I still love watching it but old school wrestling is way better then the crap that is on today. (pound) (cheers) (love2)
LOL! I know what NWO means

I dunno. I sort of stopped being even remotely interested when the fights started sucking and it turned into a bunch of badly written arguing lol.
Same here! Back when I used to watch Vince McMahon's Championship Wrestling Hour as it was called back in the 70's and early 80's, it was classic wrestling with stars that are mostly gone today or retired. The fights were better, the arguing dialogue and the fighting were both funnier, and in general the overall show was much better. This of course, was before wrestling went big time and turned into a soap opera for wrestling addicts.

Here's a clip of the old opening to the 1978 season of Championship Wrestling we used to watch all the time:

Well this was way before the day of stars getting paid millions for a theme song existed. This was a straight-up opening these song reflective of the day. Back when wrestlers worked for a paycheck. And yes, that was a very young Vince McMahon in that clip, standing next to a young Bruno Sammartino. :)

Ew, it was REALLY fucking annoying tonight. My parents were watching it. Well...it's annoying every night but it really bothered me tonight. The constant yelling, bad acting, and obnoxious crud made me repeatedly go outside. I've had more cigarettes today than usual because of this.

I miss when this was actually good. (lol)

I used to love WWF as a teen back in the '80s, when the stars were guys like Hulk Hogan, Randy "Macho Man" Savage and, my favorite back then, Rowdy Roddy Piper. My cousin took me to a WWF show for my 16th birthday in '87 (the main card was Rick Rude vs Paul Orndorff; I forget the other matches) and I used to love "Piledriver: The Wrestling Album," which was a rock record performed by various wrestlers. Again, I was a teenager at the time LOL

I grew out of wrestling by the time I joined the service and never watched it again until the early '00s. I had my then-infant daughter on my lap, she was throwing a fit, nothing was calming her down, so I flipped on the TV thinking maybe a cartoon would catch her attention. I stopped to reposition her, and it happened that the channel I stopped on was airing Smackdown. I had just sat the remote down when she stopped crying. It was almost instantly. She was just locked in to these big guys slamming each other around lol

So I watched it for a couple months -- it was our thing, me and my baby girl watching wrestling each week. I watched for a couple more years after having moved back down to the states, until Kane -- who was my favorite at that point -- was unmasked. It was a hilariously awful reveal; his backstory was that he was hideously deformed under his mask, and they pull it off and it's just a bad shave job and a lot of sloppy make-up. I must have laughed for ten minutes straight.

Anyway, that pretty much killed my interest in watching wrestling.

Stephanie McMahon was the queen, I loved her. I am so dead at this segment. Did you all know Debra played the cop in TCM: The Next Generation? She looks so different.

On now. More guys yelling about nothing. Yawn. This is proof that you don't have to be a GOOD actor to get millions. (coffee)

Meeting Ted Dibiase was still pretty rad though.

Drinking game. Take a shot when:

An announcer says "oh my God."

Someone says "intercontinental champion/championship."

An announcer or someone else says the name of one of the stars as if viewers and others in attendance forgot who they were in the last ten seconds since the last time their name was shouted.
