A bit of breaking news out of the Screen Gems panel today which welcomed Sam Raimi back to Comic-Con. Raimi revealed to the audience that he’s working with his brother and Bruce Campbell to bring Evil Dead to the small screen.

Yes, an Evil Dead television series.

So, add this to the countless other Evil Dead sequel/sequel to the remake news we’ve been carrying since the remake hit the screen. No other details to share other than that, so stay tuned for more!

I think this looks awesome. I mean, yeah, a return to more serious horror would be nice for Raimi in the future, but this still looks like one hell of a damn good time. Damn. Good. Time.

Ruby and Amanda ftw<3.

I'm really glad that this has more than just one major female character (which is what I was expecting - PHEW!)

I'm still 'meh' about it but at least that's something.

I am happy that Sam is back to actual gore effects. For a while there, it was just slime and gross shit like in Drag Me to Hell and PG-13 action movies. Seeing blood spraying all over the damn place in that trailer made me tinkle with happiness.

Starz is really going all out promoting this. There was an ad during The Walking Dead. I don't know that I've ever seen them run an ad during such a popular show.

I plan on watching it. Is it a only 1 season tv series or just a 4 or 5 part mini-series?

They have the titles of the first nine episodes on their website, but I'm not sure if that's all the episodes this season or if there's some that just aren't listed yet.

I feel like this show will last a while. Most definitely. I look forward to it, even if it is completely comedy like Army of Darkness. I still look forward to it.

I'll binge the first season after it's finished airing. If I like it, I'll watch season two week to week.

I think my friend Caitlyn wants me to go see this with her as it premieres at the Alamo Drafthouse. Apparently they're screening the pilot when it airs... Or maybe it was the Granada Theater.

^ I am. Caitlyn is close to those who own the Granada, so when they're going to have the screening, they're going to tell her, and she's gonna come and pick me up, and we're gonna go!

Bloody Disgusting has the first four minutes, if you can't handle the wait.

Watched it earlier. I love me some Bruce, but if those first four minutes are indicative of what to expect from the series as a whole? Big, fat no thank you.

I watched it. It's Starz, so there's a good chance I'm going to accidentally see it with the way they advertise their stuff. I'm mostly indifferent about it. Only one bit really worked for me, but it cuts off before anything actually happens. He doesn't even talk to another character until over a minute and a half in. I was expecting to have more of an opinion, but four minutes of something that isn't edited to fit in four minutes is a really short amount of time.

The easier question to answer would be "What was right with them?" Go watch Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness again, then re-watch those first four minutes. You'll see what I mean.

Still, I plan on giving it a watch. As I said I love me some Bruce, and will always give him the benefit of the doubt. But those first four minutes seriously do not bode well with me.
