Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

A 747 in flight collides with a small plane, and is rendered pilotless. Somehow the control tower must get a pilot aboard so the jet can land.

Shit, I need to fix the title sometime. Oh well.

This is only my third favorite of the bunch but that's not to say this was BAD. It would be VERY hard to top 1 and 3. Still, this was really fun, intense, and entertaining. Some of the exterior shots of the plane soaring through the mountains were absolutely stunning and for the most part, everyone here did a good job. I don't like that they just randomly ditched several characters, including the pilot of the smaller plane, and a few were somewhat pointless because they never got involved in the 'big situation.' Karen Black and George Kennedy really carried this. I loved them both and this was probably George's best performance in the series. It's a bit eerie watching this after reading/seeing stuff about the crash of JAL 123 (which hit a mountain ten years after this film was made, killing 520). The climax was satisfying but some shots were a bit too much like those toward the end of the first film.

6.5/10 quality. 7/10 entertainment.
