Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

Art thieves hijack a 747, hit fog and crash into the ocean, trapping them and the passengers under 100 feet of water.

Pretty sure this is the only one I've seen from start to finish and that was like...15 years ago. (lol) I liked it as a kid, but now all I remember is a certain death scene toward the end of it.

Even though this is one of the worst, quality wise, this one is easily the most entertaining. The look of the plane (on the inside anyway) was beautiful and pretty unique for an air-disaster film, the cast here was top notch (now I remember why I used to love Lee Grant so much; she was SUCH a bitch here but also very likeable except when she made some poor decisions lol), George Kennedy was excellent as always, the crash was okay I guess (nothing spectacular) and the whole film felt like a surprisingly good "Poseidon Adventure...in a crashed plane" sort of thing, which I dug, despite the fact that such a thing *probably* wouldn't happen.

The pacing was a little uneven from time to time but the last 40 minutes or so unfolded at a very fast pace and more characters died in this film than in all of the others in the series. Yikes!

6-7/10 quality. 8.5/10 entertainment.

Disturbing fact; this was released only 16 days before the Tenerife Disaster; the deadliest (583 lives lost) aviation disaster in history. I'm stunned that they didn't yank this out of theaters.

I really liked this one. Never saw the other films in the series, though.

You should definitely check them out! The box set of all four films is cheap on ebay and elsewhere. I recently got mine for around 8 bucks new. :)
