The news is already getting fired up on the upcoming 2016 President election in November of 2016! and almost everybody wants Hillary Clinton to make a run for the white house, mainly because she's a Democrat and nobody wants to see a Republican for President again, and who else will be running to the white house next year?

You must be getting your news from a more "Democrat-friendly" source because I assure you while there very well be more Dem-minded voters, there are plenty of Republicans that I'm sure don't want a Democrat in office. Ergo, your statement is a fallacy. Speaking for others is always a bad idea. That being said, I hope they all face political scandal and humiliation and don't expect me to weigh in on this subject in any way, shape or form outside of my everpresent sarcasm. |

Although anything would be better than a republican I am pretty disillusioned by the Obama experience. Even if we do get Hilary the reps will pull the same shit and keep anything constructive from getting done. Perennial stalemate. |

I don't vote because I'm anti-govt and I think they're all crooks anyway. Apparently this type of behavior invalidates my opinion and makes me part of the problem. *shrugs
While I don't completely agree with your statement, I do agree with most of it.

I really, really want to vote since it's the first year I can.... but I despise pretty much everyone involved in this so much that I can't actually bring myself to. I wish I could delete all our politicians and replace them all with ones who don't completely and utterly suck. I was hoping Hillary might get hit with some charges and somehow magically replaced with another candidate at the last second, but it's safe to say she'll be getting a free pass

Trump gets my vote. I've always been Republican and my grandfather was in the House of Representatives long time ago. I personally don't like this years elections at all but I do NOT trust Clinton at all. Trump can get our economy back I believe. |

Huge Hillary supporter here though I *probably* would have voted for Bernie if it had come down to him. Bernie's supporters are absolutely ATROCIOUS though. They're a bit too extreme for my liking - even more extreme and at times downright hateful than many of Trump's supporters. The thought of Trump in office absolutely terrifies me. The thought of the overly offended, often extreme ("KILL ALL COPS! FUCK WHITE FEELINGS! MALE TEARS, BOO FUCKIN HOO!") Bernie supporters getting their way terrifies me. As untrustworthy as Hillary may be, I'm going with her. Imo, anyone who doesn't vote has NO room to complain when the candidate who isn't their personal favorite doesn't come out on top. And don't even get me started on the mind-blowingly idiotic Bernie supporters who are randomly voting for Trump just to spite Hillary (and these people LOVE to spend their free time whining about Trump so it...really makes no sense and is absolutely childish if you ask me - spite-voting is for reality TV, not a presidential election). I personally think untrustworthy is putting it mildly. She practically admitted to lying to the U.S. population on TV (they all do, but you can try to be more competent about it). Then between Benghazi and the emails, as well as her ever changing stories for this stuff, she's definitely pretty corrupt. It's basically Audrey from Scream. We don't necessarily have a smoking gun, but so much points to it that I'd find it far more unlikely it's all some wacky misunderstanding (not to mention questionable logic) She's also proven to have terrible judgment in the past and flip flops too much for my taste. She overall scares me less than Trump, but I definitely think she's pretty horrid. As for those of us probably not voting... can we complain about hating both candidates? (Eh, I'll complain about these two, Cruz, and Bernie. They all suck. Especially Cruz) I thought most the Bernie fans that were backing Trump because Hillary is queen of the status quo, which admittedly sucks, so they assume some change beats no change (which is absolutely false because things can always get worse) rather than pure spite. If it's because they don't like either of the major candidates, people that don't vote should at least expect to be ragged on for complaining, because it's their fault. Based on what I know about the demographics of the forum, the majority of us are not in the demographics that are worth pursuing politically, because we are expected to not vote. I would think that not getting a say in who is going to run many aspects of your life for the next few years would be a big motivator, but not voting has more consequences. Public policy overall is biased against you. Low voter turnout has also been linked to economic inequality. Also, you not voting allows restrictions to be put in place to keep other people from getting to the polls who have much bigger barriers keeping them from being able to vote, like homelessness or previous incarceration, and politicians to use redistricting so that everyone that does vote has their votes be worth less. |

As entertaining as Trump is.. I have to vote for Hillary. The Republican party gets under my skin. Anyone affiliated with them in Washington needs their fuckin heads examined. The everyday hardworking Republican isn't a problem, as misguided as they might be.. there's good people on both sides of the isle who deal with real issues on a daily. It's the ego-maniacal podium jocks and ignorant subtle perpetrators of segregation that have influence on people they'll never know and never want to know that can count on me as a life long enemy. |

I've read the other side, and it wasn't very convincing. At best, the guy way overreacted. If you go to a rally, you should expect the possibility that someone from the other side might touch you and be prepared to not punch them. I worked Democrat and Republican rallies in the last two elections, and they weren't nearly as bad as the ones this year have been. |

^ Yeah, I don't recall hearing nearly as much about the last two elections when it came to people getting physical at rallies and whatnot. I think it's because everyone's "extreme" side came out this out. Diehard liberals came out thanks to Bernie (and many of them have a violent way of handling things, with all of the death threats against cops and others) and diehard conservatives came out thanks to Trump (I probably don't even need to go into that, lol). Trump saying Florida is like his "second home" and gushing over it should say a lot about the state I'm trapped in. Help. |
