Watched this on Netflix a week or so ago and; The news report at the beginning set the tone well. Toby (dark hair) and Luke (blond hair) were hot as fuck. I ship it. Hard. The group's plans kind of reminded me of what some old friends of mine in Georgia and I were planning on doing after high school (which obviously never happened). Zoe and Toby got kind of annoying but I didn't ever HATE them for their antics. Luke was a bit too withdrawn and at one point turned into a totally bipolar crybaby. Molly was such an obvious final girl it wasn't even cute. Zoe and Molly WERE smart though for wanting to ditch at the first sign of trouble (blood, in this case). EW@that funky shit dripping out of the faucets. Seriously, what WAS that?! ![]() Again; Toby Toby Toby. So insanely hot when shirtless. Unf. Anywho. Luke pissed me off when Spoiler: click to toggle It bothered me how inconsistent the characters were, panicking and crying in one scene, acting calm and ready to fight in the next, and then wandering around like dumbass bimbos and making bad decisions in the next. Some of the acting was also a bit over-the-top and bad which is fine and dandy for cheesefests but NOT when it comes to films like thisThe killer's motive was random and explained nothing but was still mildly effective (I guess). "I father fear" was kind of creepy. One of the deaths were really good in a Wrong Turn 4 "oops scene" sort of way but other than that they were pretty much ALL offscreen, with two characters even disappearing without a trace. No bodies found, no blood. Just vanishing. What?! I didn't really care for the ending at all. Spoiler: click to toggle Still not a bad film and was actually better than I expected given all the 1-out-of-5-star 'reviews' on Netflix and elsewhere. Just don't go in expecting a great one. 6/10 quality. 6/10 entertainment. Kickass setting though!! |
