Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

A couple decides to spend a romantic evening in a floor of a semi-abandoned building. During the evening they discover that a hooded murderer is the only tenant left in the building…and they have become the new target

Sounds like it could be good. Hopefully there's more characters though.

And who decides to go to an abandoned building for a romantic getaway? Lol

The urbexing type, I'd assume.

I guess it's sort of like goth kids with cemeteries.

Can't you see it? The effects of cinema violence on society?

Oh don't get me wrong, I'd love to explore abandoned locations but I doubt I'd ever want to go to one for a date or honeymoon or whatever. (lol)

I wouldn't've gone on honeymoon in an abandoned building with a potential murderer in it, but as a plot, it seems okay.

Ooh, I like that poster even though it looks like the outline of a pig's head toward the top of it, near the light. (lol)

I've liked the posters. I'll probably watch it unless it comes out during the October release frenzy.

I watched this on Netflix the other day and it wasn't as good as I thought it'd be. I really don't know what it was missing since I'm usually really satisfied with movies like this. I think it might be the fact that there's only two 'good guys' and like...four villains who all look, act, and sound the same for the most part. There's no real development or interesting relationships among the villains and they could've easily had this have just one villain and it'd probably play out the same way, minus a couple of violent scenes.

The lead couple was really likeable though. I was actively rooting for them so that's a good sign. It was really predictable how things would play out for the two of them though. (un) The cinematography was great. The whole movie had a really crisp look that made even that nasty old building look gorgeous at times. Some shots randomly made me feel like I was watching a superhero movie or something, lol.

The deaths are pretty nasty. There are three in particular that are really bloody and detailed. There's a really cool use of liquid nitrogen that I appreciated. It's up there with Terminator 2 and Jason X, honestly. I wish we had two or three more tenants to be killed off in the building though. Instead, we just had the main couple and two old people who didn't have anything to do. Having more characters would've boosted the entertainment factor and given the effects team (who totally impressed me here) more to do.

Like I said, it's just...missing something. Most of the ingredients for a great semi-slasher are there and we DO get a decent amount of kills but...

6.5/10 quality, 6/10 entertainment.
