Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

“Goodnight Mommy takes place in an isolated home and centers on a pair of twins whose mother returns home from the hospital. But with a bandaged up face and off-liter behavior, the twins begin to think that perhaps this isn’t their mother after all.”

I had the same trouble Lon had in staying awake for this one. Although, the closer it gets to the ending it does become more tense. I loved the ending. I should have suspected what was coming, but I didn't, which is great. Even then, I'm still not sure who to trust. Not the best horror movie of 2015, but I sure am glad Austria submitted it to the Oscars for a nomination spot for Best Foreign Film. It didn't get nominated, but at least they tried. Well worth a look any way. Just drink coffee beforehand. Also, I think the director of this should work with those boys again on a remake of Village of the Damned.

That'd be cool. But I'd like to see these boys again in any films, not just a Village of the Damned remake.

DVD Contents:

Movie: 1:40:05
Trailers: 4:25
Conversation With The Directors/Writers: 12:50

I wish it'd been a full commentary instead of just an interview. Or maybe we could've gotten like 20+ minutes of interviews with the twins and the mother or something.

This film left me unsatisfied and slightly disappointed. I expected to be psychologically disturbed but I disliked the third act shift, as well as their attempt to throw a twist in the film. I mean it had a sharp look and good acting but I really didn't think it had a strong story at the bottom line.
