Plot:
A young man's mother is bitten by a Sumatran rat-monkey. She gets sick and dies, at which time she comes back to life, killing and eating dogs, nurses, friends, and neighbors, leading to a brutal, bloody and nasty climax.

Definitely in my top few when it comes to films from my birth-year, this is also in my top three when it comes to being the most fun, energetic, thrilling, disgusting, hilarious, and fucked up zombie movies ever. Seriously. Zombie baby attack, bodyparts falling from someone into their soup, killer monkeys, acting ranging from decent to godawful, a great setting, and the best deaths-by-lawnmower sequence ever filmed, accompanied by a great sense of humor, random dialogue, an okay storyline and the director of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy. What is there NOT to love? 8.5/10 <3.

Heard of this one from the legendary Peter Jackson, but, having seen bits of it, I declared myself too scared s***less to watch the whole thing. From what I saw, and I can't remember much, I think I stayed up all night, too scared to sleep..! (woah)
lol. You should see "Bad Taste" too.. this is the cheezeiast ever lol
My comment about being unable to sleep also applies to "Bad Taste"..!
:P
LoL xD

This is definitely one of the most entertaining and bloody zombie films to date. It had the right amount of humor and even more gross out moments than funny ones. My main complaint is that it didn't try to be frightening at all so its not good for scare factor, but the pros make up for that one small thing. It's always a fun watch and I love seeing (and hearing) the reactions of those I show it to.

The best zombie movie ever made. <3 A balls-out, gruesome and hilarious splatterfest! So sad that Peter Jackson made two great zombie movies and went on to making Lord of the Rings. I hope he returns to the genre one day.

I gave this a rewatch tonight, and I really love this movie. It was my first time seeing it uncut and in HD, and it was glorious, even if the cut bits didn't have the same image quality.

Hmm, how long is the uncut version? The version I've seen was roughly 93 minutes. I just want to make sure I've seen the uncut version after all.

Nope. You should aim for at least 97 minutes.

Havent seen it in about 15-20 years I mainly remember the priest part in the graveyard obviously and the part with the ear falling in the custard.

Dumb Fun, Peter Jackson has come a long way since this and Bad Taste

Has everyone seen Peter Jackson's "Dead Alive or in other countries called Brain Dead?" I saw the trailer of it on Youtube, and I hear it's one of the goriest films of all time! (lol)

I guess it's gory but it's very cartoonish. I thought it was hilarious.
