![]() Some crew members of a company shooting a horror film begin to suspect that the "killings" in the movie are real, and that they are actually making a "snuff" film. |

Forgive me if we already have this thread but I couldn't find it in the Search thingy. ![]() Anyway this cut to the chase pretty quickly, at least when it came to the nudity. The musical score was good at first but was a bit shaky at times after that; but the score didn't annoy me like it did in some other movies from the 80s that Ive watched lately. The way some of the things, like the headshot, were presented made it seem like they were actually happening in 'reality' (or at least in the minds of the characters) rather than on a film set with effects. Pretty cool! Tom Savini (and his adorable rainbow umbrella) was pretty great here. Not his best performance; not his worst. The character of Nicky (Tom) annoyed me to no end though! While some people may get impatient by the lack of deaths in the first 50 minutes or so, I still really liked this; mainly because they did such a good job with the characters and the 'snuff' aspect. There was also cocaine. Lots and lot of cocaine. ![]() Lacey was a douchebag. The fishing scene was cute and I liked that one character, Celeste, felt more squeamish about hurting a fish than hurting a human being. I wonder if that was meant to be a comment on how 99% of Horror fans can't stand seeing animals die in movies but are able to handle people being killed just fine? I hope so! The 'hidden camera sex' was pretty disturbing; same goes for the 'chair scene' that had me wide eyed. They mentioned The Omen, Rocky Horror Picture Show and Night Of The Living Dead which was pretty neat. "You can call me Barnacle, or you can call me Bernardo but you don't have to call me a BASTARD!" The 'nose job' stuff was pretty funny. The big turn of events an hour into it caught me offguard and I was all " " because the bodies started piling up with a quickness. WOO! Big meanstreak in the third act, with the staircase scene being one of the strongest.Really enjoyable, but not a fullblown slasher film like some may assume it is. 6.5/10 quality. 7/10 entertainment. |

Bought the bluray after reading my own review and remembering that I actually really enjoyed this. Spent $20 on a new copy on Amazon and they sent me a used copy of Wall-E with an "Effects (1980)" label. Spent $14 on EBay and a new copy will be arriving soon. |
