![]() Paul is a U.S. truck driver working in Iraq. After an attack by a group of Iraqis he wakes to find he is buried alive inside a coffin. With only a lighter and a cell phone it's a race against time to escape this claustrophobic death trap. |

I really liked this a lot. It managed to still be really interesting and have me on the edge of my seat, without having a lot of characters and locations. |

Even though it only took place in one location (the amount of time spent with other locations was probably less than three minutes total) this managed to be really gripping and intense. They did a really good job of 'putting us there' with Paul and making us feel what he was feeling. I was frustrated when he was, angry when he was, worried when he was...you get it, I'm sure. Jabir the kidnapper was a really interesting character even if he was just a basic villain. I like how he was the writers' way of saying, "hey guess what? People in foreign countries aren't the only ones who are terrorists; these people see Americans as terrorists" which is pretty much just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all the bits of political commentary to be found in this. For example, we were shown just how disorganized and faulty certain agencies and personnel can be, even when faced with a 'do it now or ___ dies' scenario. Everytime Paul was put on hold, transferred, denied, and not believed, I wanted to throw MY phone at the screen and cry out, "Oh goddamnit America, are you SERIOUS right now?! "The ending was Spoiler: click to toggle And don't even get me started on one certain action that occurred 'up top' that really bothered me. There's someone buried under there; is now REALLY the proper time to Spoiler: click to toggle Ryan gave one of his best performances, I thought. I really liked Paul as a character too and even though we only got to see him in a bad situation, they did a good job of showing us the kind of person he was. Overall, this was really great; A LOT better than I expected it to be! 7.5-8/10 quality. 8-8.5/10 entertainment. Note; it's pretty rad that this was nominated for Fangoria Chainsaw Awards, with Ryan winning Best Actor, even though this wasn't a straight Horror film.
