Uninterested in a specific celebration, Holidays will span the calendar, aiming for a a “collection of subversive holiday tales” to “put a twisted spin on well-known and beloved holidays, including Christmas, Easter, Halloween, and Mother’s Day—to name a few.” Smith and McCarthy are on board, as are some truly exciting new talents, including Starry Eyes’ Kevin Kolsch & Dennis Widmyer, The Midnight Swim’s Sarah Adina Smith and The Dirties’ Matt Johnson. Gary Shore, Scott Stewart and Anthony Scott Burns round out the slate.

Ooh <3 It's about time we got something like this. I was wondering when something with this concept would happen since holiday themed horror movies are becoming more and more frequent now.

A Trick 'r' Treat styled anthology but spread out to the other holidays of the year? Sold.

Some people are like slinkies: not good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one falls down the stairs.

Dennis Widmyer said that they finished their short at the beginning of March. Both him and Kevin Kolsch were all over social media talking about it when they were filming. They're doing the Valentine's Day one, and some of it takes place at a pool.

I really like this idea. I'm all for anthology films. Especially horror ones. I hope there's a Mardi Gras story and a Thanksgiving one. Maybe an Earth Day one also.

I am shocked at the lack of any hype this has. Southbound had a lot more hype compared to this.

Mhm. I'm actually expecting to like this more than Southbound (which had three rather good segments and two that were disappointing).

I'm exhausted, so I'll likely go to sleep before 10 tonight (get over it.), but I'll likely watch this next week or next paycheck, depending on how much money I have.

I'm disappointed it doesn't have wrap around and reviews aren't the best but I am still going to watch. Expecting Nicholas McCarthy's and Anthony Scott Burns' segments to do the best and Kevin Smith's will be the worst, with the rest being mixed in the middle.

Southbound had the better release date. This is competing with Green Room and Darling for attention, and I think most sites favored promoting those two. 13 Cameras and The Invitation were in the running, too.

Unfortunately, this ended up just being okay. No one segment stands out as being really good. I like festive horror, but they mostly stuck to the regular ones and stuff that isn't too holiday specific. I was expecting the segments to work together as a movie better, but some major story elements are repeated and some of the segments don't entirely seem like they were meant to be in the same movie. Everyone is experienced enough to put out stylish shorts, but nothing is really stellar. It was even difficult to rank them, since most of the top ones are all about equal.

New Year's Eve>Father's Day>Easter>St. Patrick's Day>Christmas>Valentine's Day>Mother's Day>Halloween

Valentine's Day: I would have expected more from the guys that did Starry Eyes. It's pretty forgettable.

St. Patrick's Day: This was very cartoonish and had some charm. It's the oddball of the group, and I think I might like it more for standing out. I think I might like the stye of this one best.

Easter: It maybe runs a little long, but it is a brilliant idea. It's one of those concepts that are so good that the execution can leave a little something to be desired without really suffering.

Mother's Day: I loved this visually. The story could have had more of a point, and it seemed kind of redundant after St. Patrick's Day. It was weird to have to segments have really similar plots when there aren't that many of them.

Father's Day: This is another good one. The story is very emotional, and I think it also provided a nice contrast from the rest of the segments. The conclusion is a bit of a letdown, but I did really like the suspense that it had built up before that.

Halloween: I didn't dislike Kevin Smith's segment, but it doesn't fit at all with the rest of them. The holiday was in the background. I wouldn't have disliked it if it was in a different anthology.

Christmas and New Year's Eve: These are two different segments, but I don't have anything to say about one of them that doesn't apply to the other. They both have really good casts that elevate the material. Neither ends to strongly, but they're enjoyable enough.

Well that's disappointing. I'm still looking forward to watching it though.

I think it's dumb that Mother's Day AND Father's Day got segments but Thanksgiving and April Fools Day didn't.

Yeah I've been hearing that this is just alright and not all that great from a lot of people. This was one of my most anticipated horror movies of 2016 too so that sucks.

Guess I gotta get working on my own horror anthology film, huh? The wraparound is key. In any anthology film really.

I just saw it and it's not great. A lot of the segments don't feel as fleshed out as they should be or as good as you'd expect.

Valentine's Day- A mixture of Carrie, Excision, and 80s style edits. A lot of what was going on didn't feel as developed as it could have, although it's entertaining as has some cool visuals. Really annoying teens though.

St. Patrick's Day- One of the most fun and charming, despite being tonally inconsistent. Really creative and strange but bleeds more into Mother's Day than St. Patrick's Day. Ultimately found it hilarious.

Easter- First half was way better and ominous than what actually happened. I was expecting something far more serious than what we got, although what we got was creative and different.

Mother's Day- The one that feels most like an indie and has a cool atmosphere and look. The story line is intriguing but at the same time I was lost and am not sure if it was in a good way. I do love the location though.

Father's Day- The best executed segment and best segment overall. Really had a good, solid build up and you could really feel the emotion on the screen. Had a Twilight Zone vibe too and made me wish it was a part of Southbound instead of Jailbreak.

Halloween- Disgusting, low brow trash that made shock at how low it was willing to go. I sort of hated it, but thought it was also fully realized and entertaining. Acting here was probably at it's most questionable and halloween doesn't really play that much of a part but I didn't mind it.

Christmas- In a way this one felt the laziest or most underdeveloped one of the bunch. I didn't think it ever really amounted to much in the end. I got what the uvu was supposed to do but I just don't think I cared all that much about the story in general.

New Years Eve- Probably one of the funniest and has some really strong performances but I didn't think it ended with the bang that the movie really needed.
