Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

A group of sinners involved in interconnected tales of murder, revenge, deceit and adultery all meet at the Gates of Hell.

I'm going to have to tear my apartment apart, because I have no idea what I did with the copy Netflix sent me. It was a fancy one with all kinds of special features, too.

I'm pretty sure I saw this when I was a kid, and it totally scared the shit out of me.

I just gave this flick another watch recently. A favourite of mine. I absolutely love the bold use of red to represent the various "sins" and temptations. The framing of each scene is amazing too. The film making itself is an artistic achievement.

The first half is more like a drama, but with a unique execution, a strange otherworldly feel. While the second half goes straight for the throat with a surreal portrayal of hellish torture. Very ahead of it's time. One of Japan's best.
