Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

In 1965 Los Angeles, a widowed mother and her two daughters add a new stunt to bolster their séance scam business and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home. When the youngest daughter is overtaken by the merciless spirit, this small family confronts unthinkable fears to save her and send her possessor back to the other side.

I haven't even seen the first yet, and I already know this sequel is totally unnecessary.

That plot sounds EXACTLY like the first. (lol) I'll still go see this though since the first was decent.

I'm glad they're keeping the same writers, but I wish it wasn't a group of friends. I liked that the first was about siblings, and I'd rather they go for a more interesting set-up.

Word-for-word on my end as we.. Still, I'll watch it since it's horror.

Agreed. Hopefully the friends will at least be interesting - and there better not be six of them again. If there's four girls, two guys and if two of the girls are sisters, they may as well just call this a remake. (wary)

It's hard to imagine what the sequel would be like for a movie that was hacked to pieces and put together again with reshoots.

If they up the body count it could be worth it.

The first movie had two ideas for a plot that seemed interesting, but in trying to cram both of them into a ninety-minute movie, they both felt half-assed. And while this is the first time I've heard about there being reshoots on that film, I'm honestly not surprised, because the finished product felt extremely disjointed.

Given how little I thought of the first film, I'm probably skipping this.

From what one of the actesses said, a huge portion of the plot was from reshoots.

I think Mike Flanagan should save himself for better movies. I'm assuming the story will be better now that he's involved, though.

Quote:

Oculus director Mike Flanagan and and star Annalise Basso are set for Universal’s Ouija 2, says Heat Vision.

Flanagan is co-writing the script with Jeff Howard.

Basso will star as a young girl grieving the death of her father.

Universal, Blumhouse, Platinum Dunes and Hasbro’s Ouija 2, set for release on Oct. 21, 2016, will again revolve around the ancient spirit board that was at the center of the first film

I like Platinum Dunes for the most part.

I don't look forward to this, but I'll certainly Redbox it.

Sounds like a remake of the first one which wasn't that good.

Despite not liking the first all that much I am very excited for this solely because of Mike Flanagan. He was given complete creative control and I believe that it will pull a Purge: Anarchy and be an improvement to the first.

So the official title is Ouija: Origin of Evil and it's apparently supposed to take place during the 1970s?

Ooh. I actually kind of like that idea, lol. If they do a good job with the time period, this might actually be pretty good. Still not expecting it to be a GREAT film though.

Trailer will premiere this week and will be attached to The Shallows! Really think Flanagan will be 3 for 3 in 2016 with this, Before I Wake, and Hush.

Not touching this, even if Flanagan can direct well enough. First looks terrible (and got even worse reviews), and Platinum Dunes is kinda notorious for not giving a fuck

Puppy, just because there's no evidence she killed her aunt doesn't make her dating material.
