Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

The film is based on what are said to be actual events about a family who visit the Grand Canyon and bring home more than a few t-shirts and refrigerator magnets, namely a supernatural force that feeds off their fears and takes over their lives.

I wasn't that enthusiastic at first, but I guess I am a bit more now that I've seen that it's directed by Greg McLean. I don't really care for Kevin Bacon and Jennifer Morrison, but I do like Ming-Na Wen.

Kevin Bacon has the most apt name ever. Bacon makes everything better. Keen to see what McLean can do as his follow up to Wolf Creek 2

I don't think I've seen a Greg McLean film set in the U.S. so this should be pretty neat. Hopefully he makes Horror films set elsewhere too (France, Germany, Mexico, etc.). We need more Eli Roth-esque 'new' directors. :P The plot itself sounds really generic but who knows? Other movies like this have surprised me lately. The ghosts/possession/etc subgenre's really bounced back over the last year or two imo.

Sounds like it could be fun but that's a little bare for me to really move it up the list which I think it's capable of going.
Do illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup?

Some people are like slinkies: not good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one falls down the stairs.

I like the original title more. The Darkness is just such a cliche, "creepy" horror title, to be honest.

This is totally sneaking up on us so I felt the need to bump this up, lol. I'm mildly excited for it. And I'm expecting people to be all offended by it.

I had also lost track of this, so when you bumped it up I thought it might have been released.

I don't remember knowing Paul Reiser was in it.

It looks so generic that it's a little hard for me to really be hyped.

I have started seeing ads on tv, but I have heard some speculation that it might not be opening in too many theaters.

Lol. Who cares if it looks generic? GENERIC SCHENERIC! Generic isn't always bad.

This looks like it could be a very decent horror attempt. <3

It looks pretty decent, yeah. And I like the cast. It's weird that it might not be opening in many theaters. I've seen the trailer for this every time I've went to see a movie in theaters since like...February/March, lol. But then again, I saw the trailer for Green Room all the time too and look what happened to that poor (awesome) movie. (un)

This is being released ithrough Blumhouse Tilt, a subdivision who market their films mainly online to have lower p&a costs and release them in fewer theaters. It's playing in under 2,000 screens this weeken. Similar to The Green Inferno's release last September.

Blumhouse Tilt has made some of my favorite smaller Blumhouse movies, though. <3

Their range is so frustrating. 2000 theaters is close enough to wide that it isn't hard to find somewhere showing it. Around 1600 and less is when it starts to get tricky around here.
