The film is based on what are said to be actual events about a family who visit the Grand Canyon and bring home more than a few t-shirts and refrigerator magnets, namely a supernatural force that feeds off their fears and takes over their lives.

Damn epilepsy. By the time I see this, everyone is going to forget that there were disagreements about it.

Does anyone else think the dvd cover looks like it is for a horror comedy?

Maybe not a Horror comedy but it definitely has "direct to DVD 2009 film" written all over it. That's the first thing that popped into my head when I saw it anyway.

I did not like this. I actually really hated what they did with the character stuff, except for the performances of the two children. I thought it was lazy, because they didn't really delve into how the family dealt with their issues that weren't supernatural. Autism and bulimia are lifelong issues, and I think the movie glossed over that to fit into the generic formula. The treatment felt very after-school special.

There was nothing else interesting about this movie.

I'm with Lasser and Vanessa on this one. Every real problem each family member actually had was glossed over. Nothing beyond the veneer. "The Darkness" in the movie wasn't scary. Too pat of an ending. I could go on, but they pretty much said what I would already be typing now.

I like it for at least including those issues but yeah, we reeeeally needed more. It's a short film as it is so I feel they could've done with an extra 10-15 minutes of character stuff.
