I was feeling bad about not watching this before, but I have a feeling that I would have struggled to nominate it for anything beyond adding yet another name to the best looking actor poll. I guess I kind of liked it. The Ray Park fight wasn't that great, even though the effects were really good in that scene, except the parts that were a bit too silly.

This is a really weird movie. It spent some time as a normal religious horror. Then, it decided it was time to be a standard fantasy movie with a fight scene including Ray Park, but then people got possessed or something and

Next, it was time for car porn out of Fast & the Furious. Then, I completely lost the plot, and Dominic Rains ripped his shirt off. I enjoy all of those things and movies that play with genres, but I didn't understand who they were making this movie for.

There was also this weird thing where everything was very deliberately not Muslim despite the movie being about jinn. There was a scene during the credits about all the Abrahamic religions being true, but it really should have gone before they got out the cross-shaped sword holder.

This isn't the Tobe Hooper movie that seems like it's been coming for ages is it?

^ I was confused about that as well and I almost bought this at WalMart, assuming it was the other one and that they just changed the spelling from Djinn to Jinn for whatever reason. :P I might still give this a watch though since, sloppy as you made it sound, you at least made it sound interesting, lol.

Yay, this is on Netflix now so I won't have to worry about spending money on it unless I really like it.
