Hatchetman is an American horror film starring Cheryl Burns as Claudia, Chris Moir as Rob and Jon Briddell as Detective Sonny Banner. The movie was written and directed by Robert Tiffi. Claudia Wagner dreams of being a lawyer and, along with her boyfriend Sonny, must put all her knowledge into use when, one by one, her girlfriends become victim to a serial killer.

This is like the tenth movie with topless dancers I've seen in the last two weeks alone! (lol) This also had me wondering why all of these mid-late 90s/early 2000s direct-to-video Horror movies have similar sounding musical scores. Anyway;

I loved the first kill in the car. Chloe is totally Jared. Sonny was hot. I liked Claudia but she was pretty whiny and annoying with her "Waaagh Sonny! Don't focus on your job! Focus on meeee" shit that reminded me of that cruddy wife in Blood Slaughter Massacre (2015). The random guy robbing Michelle was a big "Huh?!" moment that was pointless as Hell. I don't even think Rita was an actual character yet we heard her name more times in one scene than we heard any of the leads' names in the entire damn movie, lol.

I hated Starr for her bitchiness at first (shocker, I know!) but eventually she grew on me and soon she was actually my [I[favorite[/I] of them all. When she busted out her gun, I cheered on the inside.

I really wish we had seen more of the hatchet impacting flesh instead of just downward swings and blood hitting walls and shit. That was cheap.

I was kind of surprised that the girls started finding bodies before the halfway mark. Daniel in the bra and panties was so random. The 'accidental' shooting scene caught me offguard. Rob, the dorky guy, was really cute but...oh so annoying and I hated how one minute he would be crying over a dead girl and then the next he (and the others) would be 'ready to party.' Huh?!

The killer's motive was annoying and overused. The ending was underwhelming but not terrible. And

Team Starr. Fuck the rest. (d)

I liked this but it wasn't AWESOME and it definitely wasn't as well shot as Amsterdamned, as high quality as Pieces Of Talent, or as fun as The Back Lot Murders (the three films I watched right before this one). :P

4-5/10 quality, 6/10 entertainment.

Which one was Chloe again? I forgot all of their names except Star, since she was my favorite :P

I mostly agree with your review. This wasn't bad, and was pretty fun at times, but it's a bit average.

Was there ever an explanation as to why all these girls who were strippers randomly lived in the same apartment complex? (wary)

Lol, I don't think so. I figured that since they were close friends, a couple of them were bound to live together but...all eight (or so) of them? Huh?

And Chloe was a hootchie one. (troll)

The poster and the plot description make it sound more like a '90s psychological thriller that Ashley Judd passed on, but apparently, it's also a slasher movie.

Interesting.
