Popular throughout the 90s, the Backstreet Boys aren’t exactly a band that horror fans often consider a favorite, though that isn’t stopping them from breaking into the genre. And believe it or not, they’re bringing a member of ‘NSync along for the ride. Read on.

Per The Fact, Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter will write and star in a “zombie western futuristic horror movie” for Sharknado production company The Asylum, tentatively titled Dead 7. Fellow band-members Howie Dorough and A.J. McClean have signed on, along with ‘NSync’s Joey Fatone.

The film is about a ragtag band of gunslingers operating during a post-apocalyptic zombie plague.

Lol, I saw headlines about this on Facebook but I didn't even bother to look. It doesn't sound awful though and I'll probably give it a watch when it's eventually released.

Well, they're not going to be singing so that's already a positive here. Also, zombies so this has my interest regardless of what else is being handled about it.
Do illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup?

Some people are like slinkies: not good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one falls down the stairs.

I missed this when it premiered on SyFy, unfortunately. I want to watch it just for the novelty.

As for there being no singing, while that's true in the film itself, they did record a song for the end credits.

I am disappointed that there is no singing. If you're going to put members of various boy bands in a movie, you need to embrace how ridiculous it is and have at least one musical number. What's the point of it if you don't have them break into song at one point?

I thought this was surprisingly decent. By The Asylum standards, it's good. It is really ambitious for a movie heavily featuring nonprofessional actors. A. J. McLean is good enough to be cast in a SyFy movie without a weird boy band theme. There's only one guy that is completely terrible (Chris Kirkpatrick), but they do their best to not actually show him doing any acting. The script could make more sense. I don't know that this is really the movie that you would watch for a logical plot. It has some really enjoyable moments.

Joey Fatone is actually good. He could be in a real movie.
