![]() Agreeing to travel to Scotland on a missionary trip, a Christian couple find their host family part of a clan that practices Pagan rituals and worship that are intending on using them for one of their next ceremonies. What did everyone think of this one? |

This here was a really poor and rather frustrating sequel that doesn't really have as much going for it as it's predecessor, though even taking it on it's own terms it's not that great. One of the film's main flaws is it's inherent inability to really get itself in a groove as to where it wants to go, whether this is about the pagan society or the different customs on the island corrupting the couple. This makes the film wander around and showing them experiencing the different ways of life there or showcasing how the locals live, never once preparing for the ceremony, what exactly it entails or why the whole affair is to go down. The one explanation given isn't anything to really get worked up over, either, as it's just plain idiotic and takes away from the films' connection to the original as well. With a dreary pace really only getting interrupted in the final minutes, this only has bounteous nudity to get it going, leaving this one a colossal disappointment. |

I've never read much about this so I still don't even know if it's a sequel to the original film or the remake.

According to a friend who has the British DVD version, on the commentary track the director claims it's not a sequel at all, it's more within that same universe as the original. Despite it being with the same director and again features Christopher Lee, there was never an intent to it being a sequel but more of another story taking place in that particular universe. From what he said, it's not even the same group here from the original so I'm giving what he said about it. |
