A police officer suspects that a local husband and father who has recently undergone facial surgery because of injuries received in a car accident is in reality the same man who committed a quadruple murder several years before. |

I was all giddy about Kathleen Quinlan being in this. I love her. The opening was really well done and had some pretty grisly aftermath-shots in it. On top of that, there's a pretty crazy car crash in the first act. It predates The Stepfather by two years but has SO much in common with it that it makes me think that perhaps it inspired The Stepfather. Of course, this is more of a police procedural than The Stepfather is but the set up is similar, some of the characters are similar, the opening is VERY similar, and so on. This could've went one of two ways - Spoiler: click to toggle They went with the better of the two.The phone call scene was creepy, the police stuff was handled well, the performances were mostly good, Chris' ex was annoying and dickish, Chris and Steiner were easily my two favorite characters, and while this didn't NEED the 'serial rapist' part of the story, it did help the film a bit. The ending was only a LITTLE bit surprising but they pulled it off well. This one is also on YouTube. 6/10 quality, 7/10 entertainment. |
