Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

A spider escapes from an isolated desert laboratory experimenting in giantism and grows to tremendous size as it wreaks havoc on the local inhabitants.

Ooh yeah, spiders give me the creeps too, but I do like spider movies. I guess it just really appeals to my fear factor. This one's even worse because the damn spider is like 100 feet tall!
The FX still hold up, which is impressive considering this came out in 1955.

I think this was Clint Eastwood first movie and he played a fighter pilot shooting at the Tarantula.

That's a fact. Without Ol' Clint's piloting and napalm dropping skills, that giant spider might still be crawling around the desert.

I think I saw this when I was little, but I barely remember it nowadays. Didn't even know who Clint Eastwood was back then, to give some idea of how young I was.

My brother's girlfriend can't even watch movies about spiders. She is that terrified of them. Whenever she sees one in the house, you can hear her screaming from upstairs.

Yeah, I'm not showing her this.

I love this movie so much. We used to have a channel that did midnight horror movies and old scifi films. Saw this on there once.

I watched this on Svengoolie a couple months ago, thought it was boring however as mentioned on here it's noteworthy of being Clint Eastwood's early film appearances.
