Recounting a traumatic experience, a woman tells of how her search for her missing husband leads to a scientist in the Everglades and his past experiments with him, eventually finding that he has been turned into a half-man, half-alligator monster who she must keep from getting loose in the swamps.

What did everyone think of this?

There's not a whole lot here that's really impressive about this one, making for a pretty disappointing effort. One of the few positives about this one is the fact that there's a rather solid mystery built up here about the disappearance and her search to find him. This is all handled quite well here with the search in the first half where the mystery gets started, from the shocking start by jumping off the moving train to the dead-ends researching the case which does get glossed over in narration yet there's still a lot to like about the direction it goes in. Following along into the hospital where the actions of the staff along with the strange interactions with the alligators in the swamp which really help the mystery going, there's a pretty chilling factor built off how off-kilter those situations get. Otherwise, the only other part that works here is the finale where it really gets quite action-packed as the released mutation starts going crazy dealing with the scientist and his goons before battling out in the swamp. After that, there's a lot more wrong here as this one manages to spend a lot of time not actually doing anything. Not only is there way too many scenes of her either wandering around discovering nothing by getting discovered or having to quit at the wrong time which just tends to make the first half really drag to a halt. The constant goings back-and-forth to the psychiatrist's office simply break-up the running time even more and really make the whole effort seem a lot less exciting and boring even though this one is barely long enough to matter. The shorter running time here might make the film run a lot quicker yet this one has a real problem getting going and really letting the action take over in here. The shorter pace doesn't help this all that much when it really could've made something of its shorter time and the fact that the cheesy special effects on display don't help much either lower this one significantly.
