![]() Five intertwining tales of terror unfold along an endless desert highway. On a desolate stretch of road, weary travelers — two men on the run from their past, a band on their way to the next gig, a man struggling to get home, a brother in search of his long-lost sister and a family on vacation — are forced to confront their worst fears and darkest secrets in these interwoven tales of terror and remorse on the open road. This is another one premiering at TIFF. Be prepared to hear about it constantly on Bloody Disgusting, because it's connected to the people that did the V/H/S movies. |

Sounds like it's got potential, but that many stories may make this a trainwreck trying to get everything sorted out. I hope it doesn't happen as this sounds really good if it would've been a little simpler. |

Do illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup? Some people are like slinkies: not good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one falls down the stairs. My review blog: http://donshorrormovieblog.blogspot.com/ | |

One of the best things about this was the soundtrack. I liked the movie itself, but I....was kind of confused I'm not one of those people who needs an explanation for everything in a movie, but they could have atleast made a little more sense with it? I dont know, maybe I'm just retarded Those floating skeleton monster things were pretty cool (and a bit creepy).I think my favorite segment was the one about the girl band. None of the segments were bad at all though, and it did rather well at keeping my attention as a whole. That operation scene had me all squirmy. |

Lol no I wasn't. Looking at the IMDb board for this, I'm glad I wasn't the only one a bit confused. Like I said though, I still liked it, and it was still pretty satisfying. I'd watch it again. |

I might just watch it by myself first. That way, if Robby's confused by something when I watch it with him, I can just explain it to him. More than once, we've both watched things that were confusing and we both just sat there feeling totally lost. It was more annoying than anything.

^Tbh, I'm probably just a dumb blonde who couldnt figure out the deeper meaning or something I read one theory about how everyone in the movie is suppose to be in Purgatory, which would actually make sense, after what the guy on the radio is saying. I wont go further since none of the rest of you have seen it yet ![]() After seeing Starry Eyes, and now this, I'm really starting to like Fabianne Therese

Truth being told, the movie was a bit inconsistent. I mean it wants to convince you that all the stories are connected by more than pure coincidence, but they really aren't. Par example, the bit of the guy looking for his sister is simply a filler. No connection whatsoever with the other parts. Other than that, the flick was entertaining enough. Pretty cool cgi and artwork, decent acting and good soundtrack. Wasn't expecting much and I was pleasantly surprised. |

So before I get into the movie, I have to mention Maria Olsen. Her career is fucking HUGE. What the hell?! I never even heard of her until 2013 or so but it turns out she's been in over 170 TV shows, short films, full length films, etc. in the last ten years alone. That shit is crazy. I would like to see her end up with some much bigger roles sometime soon (so far I've only seen her as characters who are only onscreen for 5-10 minutes, if that) but hey, she still seems to be doing well for herself.ANYWAY I liked this a lot more than I expected to but it did completely run out of steam in the last half hour or so. It had the problem that so many other anthologies have - it saved the worst two segments for last. THE WAY OUT: This segment was really interesting and bizarre. I didn't really care for the two guys heavily featured in this but their predicament was rather interesting. I love when situations mess with the characters and audience at the same time in the way that this one did. The ending of this segment was a bit of a miss though. The stuff with the daughter was rather unimpressive. The weird Dementor-esque things were really creepy from a distance but not as effective up close. SIREN: I really like cult Horror so this segment was easily one of my favorites. The performances were pretty good, it had creepy twins, and I loved the weird 50s style that the 'family' had. The girls were likeable enough but they...sort of blended together. I was also a bit confused because at one point there were four girls in the group, hanging out, but for most of the segment, we only saw three? The ending was pretty shocking and I love that it blended perfectly with the third segment.THE ACCIDENT: Easily my favorite of the bunch, this was the only one that had me totally on edge. I loved almost everything about this and some parts actually made me squirm a bit. Reaching inside of...URGH! I liked the 'main guy' in this segment and the people on the other end of the call were effective as well. JAILBREAK: For me, this is where it really started to fall apart. Maria Olsen was probably the best thing about this and she wasn't around for very long. It's under twenty minutes but it seemed to never end and I just...wasn't as interested in the story as I was the story of the first three. I really don't know why but this one just couldn't hold my interest and was a weird story that felt like it was jumping around too much at times and staying quiet and dull at other times. Meh. THE WAY IN: This one was better than Jailbreak but still nowhere near as good as the first three segments. I loved that things went full circle and it tied into other segments in a really satisfying way but like Jailbreak, I really didn't care about what was happening until the last two or three minutes. Overall, this was pretty good but I can't see myself sitting through it again...and if I do, I'll probably just watch the first three segments lol. I don't get why this got a fair amount of buzz since it's not even one of the strongest of the last two months imo. 5.5/10 quality, 6/10 entertainment. |

I feel like a big part of the buzz was based solely on The Accident. It also didn't have any segments that were too awful, which had to help people justify it. |
