Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

Puppy, just because there's no evidence she killed her aunt doesn't make her dating material.

I remember first stumbling on the news via IMDB, I was reading about something else, and I decided to look at any new IMDB News articles, and the first one that popped up was "Wes Craven Passed Away at 76". I was absolutely shocked and speechless. Then I started having flashbacks of my experiences watching his movies, remembering my earliest memories being New Nightmare and Scream, they were my very first WC films. I also remembered, when watching NewNight, I first heard Craven's name and initially thinking how cool a name it was.

This man has become an idol of mine in the horror genre, he reinvigorated the horror genre twice, with A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream, a rare thing most other directors could barely manage to do. I will always happily watch his interviews and listen to his DVD commentaries any day, I find it soothing to hear him with his low-toned voice when he talks about his movies (tbh, I'd get a little frightened if I ever heard him angrily raise his voice :P ).

So to end my post this way, RIP Wes Craven 1939-2015, you were, and still is, an awesome guy. (cry)
