Not sure how these aspects would have been received by you guys, but I took this as a very dark satire of what us Aussies call 'the cultural cringe' - our perception of how the rest of world sees us. Lots of in jokes to this effect that may have been lost overseas. A good example is early on when Mick says to a cop "Where the bloody hell do you think you're going?" - This is playing on a tourism campaign from a few years back which had the slogan "So where the bloody hell are ya?". Then later on we get Mick saying "oh look a flying Kangaroo" which is the nickname for our national airline Qantas. These are just 2 of many examples I could list, that for me, made this sequel one of the rare occasions where the sequel bettered the first. |

I have some kind of weird block when it comes to this movie. I just finished watching my 70th 2014 horror/thriller release, but I still haven't managed to sit down and watch this, even though I've had it for ages. |

Maybe your subconscious is telling you to avoid it because you might end up hating it or something.

I liked this a lot more than the first one. I think it was a good move to have it be more of a road movie. It felt a lot fresher and less derivative. It still has a serious Texas Chainsaw Massacre influence (Part II this time), but it was less obtrusive this time. The story is also structured so much better. I also thought the characters were a lot more interestingly developed. I was thinking of the Freddy comparison the whole time, and it didn't really work for me. The humor was just a bit too on-the-nose for me, especially coupled with some of the unimpressive gore. The final sequence went on way too long for me, and I feel like it goes on too long for me to ignore that the movie seems to have run out of interesting things to say at that point, since I've been going after so many other movies lately for it. |

Yeah, some of the humor WAS kind of over-the-top (but a lot was also enjoyable) and the ending did go on about ten minutes too long (but I still like it anyway). I'm glad you liked this more than I thought you would.

A fucking blast. I loved how fast paced and action oriented this film was compared to the 2005 original. It being an extremely slow torture fest wouldn't have worked all these years later, so I'm glad they decided to shake things up a bit and adapt it. One of my favorite horror sequels! |

I really liked the deleted scenes even though most of them were the German couple just hanging out at a hostel, in a graveyard, and at a campground. The scenes actually made me like them more so I wish at least a little bit of that had remained in the film. The penis deleted scene was some grotesque shit. I'm watching the Making Of now<3. They keep showing clips and I had forgotten just how GORY this was.

Early days yet, so I won't start a thread just yet, but John Jarratt has said in an interview that Wolf Creek 3 is in development right now and should shoot next year. http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/101303/mick-taylor-to-slash-again-in-wolf-creek-3/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter |

I didn't see a post anywhere for this, so I thought I'd add it in! Did anybody else see this one? I absolutely loved it, which was surprising to me because I really didn't like the first movie. But after hearing a lot of good reviews I decided to give this a shot and I have no regrets. What made the movie for me was the main character, I found him to be very likable and I couldn't help but root for him into making it out of the situations he found himself in. All in all it was a pretty intense film with a lot of great characters and moments scattered throughout. Also, Mick's lair reminded me of the Sawyer's lair in TCM2 |
