I'm kind of surprised that no one else has jumped into this thread. I thought this movie was a bit of a classic or something? ;)

I'm really sad, after watching it, that I had the 'twist'

spoiled for me years ago but the reveal was still pretty shocking as were the scenes at the factory that made me feel kind of gross. I guess knowing the twist beforehand made some of the other scenes (such as the part where people were rioting and

) much more ominous and unsettling since I knew what exactly was going to happen to them. :P

The 'releasing' stuff reminded me of The Giver a bit, which was really cool. That whole scene was really sad but also mildly disturbing and...not nice. (wary) There are only a couple of standout characters here that I really liked. Everyone else either made me want to punch something (that's intentional, I'm sure) or were boring (probably not intentional). This was surprisingly violent but it's not a gory film at all. The make up was pretty good. I liked that everyone, even a lot of the wealthy people, looked pretty gnarly and unglamorous (with the exception of a few 'beautiful people'). For the most part, I didn't mind the pacing even though there were some slow parts. The ending alone is more than enough of a reason to watch this since it's pretty fucked up and grim. (grave)

I really hope there's a special edition somewhere. If so, I'll probably buy it.

6.5/10 quality, 7/10 entertainment.

My history teacher showed this to us for class once. I forget the relevance in it (I think the type of dystopian future had to do with the world view at the time,) but I enjoyed the movie! None of us in the class knew the twist so we all kind of experienced it together. We were all pretty shocked when it finally happened :P
