A crew of interplanetary archaeologists is threatened when an alien creature impregnates one of their members, causing her to turn homicidal and murder them one by one.

I had a really hard time picking a poster to use for this thread since it has three or four rather cool ones.

I didn't care for most of the characters here and I kept getting a couple of the men mixed up. The creature effects were cheesy (urgh, the twins -_- ) but the kills were surprisingly graphic and quite satisfying. There's a fair amount of bloodshed here and the bodycount was larger than I thought it would be. I thought this would be one of those movies that allows two thirds of its characters survive but nope! It's almost structured like a slasher (and to an extent, it actually is since it's a 'human' doing most of the damage). The death order surprised me too.

It was also really cool seeing Judy Geeson in a Horror role thirty years before she starred in The Lords Of Salem! She did a really good job here, I thought. The ending was kind of wonky and I didn't really care for the tacked on final scene at all but overall, this was rather satisfying and probably the best (or at least one of the two or three best) SciFi-Horror movies I've watched over the last month or so.

5.5/10 quality, 7/10 entertainment.

I first heard of this as a youngster. I remember seeing the VHS version re-titled "HORROR PLANET" at the video store. I checked it out on Youtube.

Maybe I was too sleep deprived, but I found the movie to be a boring ALIEN knockoff. I found the story hard to follow, up until the alien rape scene. How many of these kind of movies did they make back then? And the characters were either annoying or forgettable. Judy Gleeson would scream and cry too often.

At least now I recognize the close up shot of the alien that I recall seeing a quick shot of in an episode of SOUTH PARK.
