Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

I looked and I'm very surprised there's not a thread for this. Any ways, with a potential sequel coming out in 2 months it got me full of excitement and this movie has a lot of nostalgia for me. I remember seeing the trailer during Transformers and then following the hype train like everyone else. I couldn't shut up about it before release and after seeing it. It was very much worth the hype and it holds a very special place in my heart.

Woah. I'm surprised we didn't have a thread for this already. I like this movie a lot despite the fact that it was WAY too short. I have a feeling I won't like the sequel/spinoff nearly as much. (wary)

I love how the sequel's (?) announcement caused everyone to suddenly be fans of this movie (despite the fact that for eight years, most people have bashed it, lol)

I love this film and watch it regularly, but man... No one's spoken about this since like 2009, at the latest. And then the trailer for the spin-off comes out, and everyone's just like "ZOMG! I BEEN WAITIN' SINCE 2008 FOR DIS!"

I mean, I was excited too... But yes. The trailer was underwhelming. Plus, since it's not found-footage, I don't think, I don't know how I feel. I think the found-footage style is part of what made Cloverfield so freaking cool. Plus the fact that everyone in the cast was pretty much equally developed made it hard to tell who was going to live and who was going to die. (And the final outcome is pretty damn surprising.)

So basically the new "OMG I LOVE CLOVERFIELD NOW!" is the new "I'm a vegan" or "I never liked Star Wars". :P

But all jokes aside, the found footage style does seem like more of an acquired taste. Either at first view some people loved it or hated it (as far as filming style).

I was talking to a guy lastweek about this movie and he wanted to know where the creature came from. I told him to watch the ending when the couple is in Coney Island and the beach scene you will see some object falling into the water. The creature has to be alien, similar to Pacific Rim.

Puppy, just because there's no evidence she killed her aunt doesn't make her dating material.
