Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

Since this is ongoing, I'll just drop the Wiki article and some basics in the first post and update it as it goes in other posts.

"As of early 2016, the most widespread outbreak of Zika virus disease, caused by the Zika virus, is ongoing mostly in the Americas. The outbreak began in April 2015 in Brazil, and subsequently spread to other countries in South America, Central America, and the Caribbean.

In January 2016, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that the virus was likely to spread throughout the majority of the Americas by the end of the year; and in February 2016, the WHO declared that the cluster of microcephaly and Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) cases reported in Brazil—strongly suspected to be associated with the Zika virus outbreak—was a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.

The virus is mainly spread by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which is commonly found throughout the tropical and subtropical Americas, but also by Aedes albopictus ("Asian tiger"), which have become widespread as far north as the Great Lakes region of North America. The Zika virus might also be transmitted through sex – two likely cases have been reported.

The majority of Zika virus infections are asymptomatic, making estimating the number of cases difficult. In around one in five cases, infection with Zika virus results in a minor illness known as Zika fever, which causes symptoms such as fever and a rash. However, Zika virus infection in pregnant women has a suspected link with newborn microcephaly by mother-to-child transmission and, in very few cases, GBS. A number of countries have issued travel warnings, and the outbreak is expected to have an impact on the tourism industry."

If it weren't a virus, Zika sounds like the name of a mid-2000s pop icon or something.

So, it seems like some good (?) news has been released. It appears that Zika may not be the cause of microcephaly as was first assumed. Rather, the areas that microcephaly has been occurring had their water treated with something to prevent mosquitoes from hatching or something and that may be what is causing the birth defects.

Ehh I'm not too worried anymore. I was able to go to a convention with THOUSANDS of people and I ended up not getting it so I don't think any of us should worry unless someone in our families catch it randomly.

Yeah. No one's really talking about this here anymore. It's nowhere near the level of ebola.
