Now that I have a copy and Vanessa and Aaron will be getting theirs soon, we can start this as our second 'book club' book. (goo) Feel free to read along with us if you have a copy or if you plan on buying one very soon. They're only $4/$5 on Amazon and Ebay (shipping included, usually). I'm pretty excited since I love the movie so much.

Aaron's copy arrived at my house today. I'll be sending it before Monday and then we can get started. :)

Mine should be here in a day or two. It's in Pennsylvania, so it shouldn't be that much more of a wait.

Are you guys rewatching the movie before reading? I'm on the fence about it.

I really love the front and back cover of it. They picked some of my favorite stills from the movie. I don't like that the plot makes it sound like it's more of a straight up bodycount story than it actually is though.

I agree. I do like the tagline on the front.

I can't wait to start it with you guys. Not sure when I'll get my copy, but when I do, you two will be the firsts to know. ;) (Except for me and the mailman, of course. And my grandma, since she's the one whose apartment the package is being delivered to.)

I really loved the quirky nature of the film, which was easily one of my favorite slashers of the 80s, so I can't wait to see how that over-the-top characterization of Eric will transfer onto the pages of the novelization.

Mine is spending the time it's waiting for Aaron to get his copy hanging out on the windowsill. It's a little stinky.

36 year old book stinky is awesome. Books have that awesome, classic smell to them. Read thirty times by Loverboy from Girlhouse stinky? Not so much.

I can be ready as early as Tuesday. Since it's a somewhat shorter book, I'm fine with just reading two chapters at a time instead of three or four. Up to you guys though.

On second thought, let's just read five or six chapters at a time. (lol) I just flipped through it without reading anything and it turns out the first SIX chapters only cover 38 pages.

Lol. Yeah. It's a tiny book. :3 You'd think that RL Stine wrote it in 1996.

Yeah, I really don't think I'd be able to stop reading after just ten pages. I'm not liking the other book I'm reading right now, so I don't think I could resist the temptation to keep going.

Yeah. If the book is half as groovy as the movie, I don't think I'll be able to put the fucker down.
