Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

Investigative reporter Chase Carter attempts to stop a secret government conspiracy that threatens the lives of millions of innocent people in a quarantined city during a zombie outbreak. A sequel to the 2015 horror film, 'Dead Rising: Watchtower'.

(goo) This makes me happy. Dead Rising: Watchtower was surprisingly good so I'll definitely be watching this.

Only forty more days then<3. I hope it's at least 1 hour 45 minutes. Since Watchtower was two full hours, I'll be kind of bummed if this is only 85 minutes or something.

I really enjoyed the second game, and while I don't own an Xbox One, I did like what I saw of the third game from a Let's Play I watched. I've heard mixed things about the live-action films, though.

Fan of the games, but never seen any of the movies. Might have to check out Watchtower soon.

Are these films connected in any way to the games?

They're connected but you'll be able to follow them even if you haven't played the games.

I was sorely disappointed by this. It's nowhere near as good as the first, as violent as the first, or as fun as the first. It had a few interesting characters and the storyline was interesting enough but literally just ten minutes or so of this featured a lot of zombie action. It took a while for characters to start dying and it was more likely for a major character to disappear than be killed off. (un) Keegan Connor Tracey was also totally wasted here. I loved her in the first but her character was a bit dull in this one and she wasn't even a part of the film until it was over two-thirds over! I was mad.

I liked Chase a lot. They replaced the main colead girl from the first film with some random (but still alright) chick and there was some other main girl as well who was the more likeable of the two but was the one who had less to work with. Figures. The zombies all look pretty similar. It bothered me here as much as that same thing did in Resident Evil: Extinction. I like variety when it comes to how zombies look.

The pacing was also iffy but I wasn't flat out bored. This desperately needed more fun moments, more action, and more kills though. It's good for carrying the story forward but it's still worse than the first film because that one managed to have tons of kills, zombies, and action AND a decent enough story and when it comes to something like this, a good story isn't the ONLY thing I'm looking for. (lol) I recommend watching it if you've watched the first and enjoyed the first. If you didn't like the first, I guess you MIGHT like this one since it's a bit different. This was also like 20 minutes shorter than Dead Rising: Watchtower. Boo.

5/10 quality, 6/10 entertainment. I'm probably being too nice.

That is not what I was expecting. Oh well, I'll still see it obviously.
