When he was young, Howard Phillips (Jason Barry) watched his sister get torn apart by one of Dr. Herbert West's (Jeffrey Combs) reanimated corpses. Phillips, now a doctor, is so eager to learn more about the mad doctor's attempts to bring back the dead that he accepts a position at the prison where West is being held. Phillips delves further into West's gruesome research, which attracts the attention of a local reporter (Elsa Pataky) and the cruel prison warden (Simón Andreu).

Kind of bland, but Combs is great in it though.

Nowhere near the first but I liked it more than Bride. I thought it was better paced and the characters decisions made more sense than in Bride of Reanimator.

This one here is a quite enjoyable if simple to understand effort in the series.

The main part of this one here is based around the film's rather great action scenes that become quite common-place throughout here as it really boils down to the main factor to like here. This one has something interesting going on whenever West's experiments are on-screen, as the scenes of him toiling away at his lab concocting his usual assortment of tricks and featuring his experiments on the staff makes for quite a rather familiar turn through this one.

That leaves the film with some great scenes here, including the first reanimation of the prisoner after his freak-out in the prison, their experiment on the rat and eventually leading into the encounter in the solitary room where the infection spreads from the first patient into the warden and then takes over the rest of the prison by going after the rest of the staff during the exciting riot that takes over most of the final half here. Not only filled with the usual brawling and beating that's usually featured here, there's also the numerous confrontations throughout the prison with the prisoners running wild throughout the various rooms and floors of the prison with the great conclusion in the top of the jail which is full of the usual antics found in the series and works so well which really gives this one quite a high-note finish.

As the opening scene is also quite fun as well with the raging thunderstorm and the strong work on the ghoul as there's a rather impressive being here overall that starts this off on a fine note, which along with the fun gore throughout the different reanimated creatures give this one a lot to really like here.

While there's plenty to like, it does have a flaw in the rather stilted pacing in the first half while they're introducing everything at the prison, as it's keeping him out of the lab. When he's not doing anything or not the focus of the sequence, it's not good, as since the experiments don't even get unleashed until the final half-hour it's got a long time to go before something interesting is going on, and that leaves this one a little colder than expected to be.

The only other factor to dislike about this one is the fact that there's very little reasoning why West is allowed as much freedom when we meet as him as he did, which is quite weird for what his sentence was and his reputation would've made him unable to do as much as he did, leaving this one slightly troubling. These here do hold this one down somewhat.
Do illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup?

Some people are like slinkies: not good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one falls down the stairs.
