Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

A Basque priest finds by means of a cabalistic study of the Bible that the Antichrist is going to be born on Christmas Day in Madrid. Assisted by a heavy-metal fan and the host of a TV show on the occult, he will try to summon the Devil to find out the place of birth and kill the baby.

LOVE this flick. Loaded with jet-black humor, as our hero priest goes about committing all manner of sins with the sole intent of earning the Devil's trust, so that he might be allowed to be present during the birth of the anti-christ -- and kill it. Álex Angulo is fantastic as the harried priest and Santiago Segura is invaluable as the death-metal loving sidekick/comedic relief.

IMO, this is among the best foreign horror films of the '90s. I'd easily rank it right up there with the likes of Ringu, Sobrenatural, Tesis, The Kingdom...
