![]() In a small Michigan town, hard-partying stoner Lou (Natalia Lyonne) awakens one morning and finds herself experiencing bizarre symptoms. Her friend, Sadie (Chloe Sevigny) believes she is pregnant and not telling her about it, despite Lou's claims that she hasn't had sex with anyone in nearly a year. A mysterious stranger, Lorna (Meg Tilly), however, believes Lou. As conspiracies and stories of bizarre kidnappings around town begin to spread, Lou's visions and grip on reality become more distorted. |

September 2nd on VOD and select theaters. Trailer is out and it looks really trippy and run down, unlike the overly polished and pretentious #Horror. |

^ I instantly thought of #Horror when I saw Natasha's name. Hopefully this will redeem her for me (not that she was even one of the 25 worst things about #Horror). This sounds alright.

It is a very imperfect movie. It is also a very interesting one and that is always a good way to get points from me. I already know that if I were to give it a number score that it would be completely unreliable and inflated by 2 or 3 points. I like Natalia Lyonne's performance. It is the one that holds the movie together, but everyone else is very good. The movie is a bit like Kevin Smith wrote (another) body horror movie out of the 70s and 80s but hired someone else to direct it. The plot is interesting and unpredictable. The style is consistently inconsistent, which seems like something you would need an art house director to pull off. I really liked the imagery. The themes are interesting and the movie addresses them in a variety of ways through the changes in tone and style. I think it could have called on the Kevin Smith influence a little more often. The dialogue is clunky in places that it should have been more natural to fit with the tone of that specific part of a scene. I know that sentence is confusing, but it will probably make sense once you see the movie. It ends up seeming a little meandering, and I wish that I payed more attention to the clock to know why. It needed something to bring it all together more and the movie's sense of humor is the best thread that it has. |

I just got done working with one of the actors from this on a stage-play version of Dracula and he was telling me the script was pretty wild, so I'm wanting to check it out. |

Good<3. I just might watch it again since I liked it a lot. It's grown on me the more I've thought about it and the performances are some of my favorites of the last year. |

I would very much like to see some of those The movie itself is uneven. It doesn't always work. However, the three lead actresses (Natasha Lyonne, Chloë Sevigny, and Meg Tilly) are great. I especially love Chloë, but I have a thing for her. By the way, Spoiler: click to toggle It does fall in line with Kevin Smith's new venture in horror. Which isn't a bad thing at all. Just needs a little more here and there to flesh it out or something. Solid body horror movie overall though.
