The series, known for its anarchically alphabet-themed anthology of short films, launched a “Filmmaker Frenzy” competition for the segment devoted to the letter “M” – collecting more than 500 three-minute long entries from over 40 countries in the process – including Robert Boocheck’s winning entry, “M is for Masticate,” featured in ABC’s of Death 2.

ABC’s of Death 2 1/2 showcases an additional top 26 finalists, providing fans 85 minutes of unadulterated madness, including “M is for Marauder,” “M is for Malnutrition,” and “M is for Mariachi,” along with plenty more new nightmare fuel to tide them over until the next numbered segment in the series.

I like that they're doing this. I was hoping a lot of the finalists would be included on the DVD or something but this is even better.

I do also like that it's going to be cheap. I think it is $6 to own. That's a fair price for it.

I'm wary of anything ABCs of Death related, but the sequel is supposedly better than the first movie trainwreck.

The sequel was way better than 1 although I still want a proper 3!

Hopefully this makes sense:

The first film had a few AMAZING segments but it had plenty that were absolute trash
The second had very few amazing ones but it had more good ones and fewer terrible ones.
The high points of the second weren't AS great as the high points of the first but the bad segments of the second weren't as bad as the bad ones in the first. Overall, the second film is a lot more consistent so I like it more.

This was surprisingly good though I wish several of the segments were more coherent and that MOST of them had been longer than 2 or 3 minutes. Some felt too crammed due to the runtime limits and could've easily been 5-7 minutes long. Much like the second film, this never hit the extreme highs of the first ABCs of Death but also never dipped down to the extreme lows of that film either. The whole thing is pretty average and consistent throughout and I guess that's a good thing. I'll take 18 average, 4 above average, 4 way below average segments over 10 GREAT segments, 10 TERRIBLE segments, and 6 ranging from below average to average. (lol) I think I still like the first two films though, mainly because they had more of a variety in general. That doesn't really count as a strike against this though. I just don't think it's one I'll be watching again unless I have a 'marathon' of the three films. This one definitely has me wanting a real ABCs Of Death 3 though. This was sort of a make-or-break-the-series film for me and it left me wanting more in a GOOD way (unlike V/H/S 2 which left me wanting more in a bad way and V/H/S: Viral which was mostly better than 2 but also killed any hopes of that becoming a great series). It also helps that this series has 20+ filmmaking teams each time.

I really don't know which segment is my favorite and I definitely don't know which is my least favorite. Mariachi was a hoot but didn't really make sense and was just awfully random. Cool visuals though! Mom was decent too. Marauder was kind of awkward. Magnetic Tape was so bad it was good. Mormon Missionaries was really good and I liked the twist a lot. Muff was fucking HILARIOUS. Mindmeld was another really satisfying one. Munging was pretty disgusting but it was well shot...sort of. Most of the others were a mixed bag with highs and lows throughout. Some were totally forgettable but not offensively terrible, lol.

Like I said, this is a mostly good one but nothing great. We didn't NEED this but I'm glad we got it to tide us over before ABCs Of Death 3 (which I'm REALLY wanting, lol).

Not going to give a quality score since, like many anthologies, it's a rollercoaster in that department. But I'll throw a 7/10 at it for the entertainment factor.
