![]() Not long after John Chambers and his family arrive at their new home in a small country town of Pennsylvania, John begins to experience sleep paralysis. Lying there paralyzed, trapped within his own nightmare, other-worldly beings visit John. They are entities which exist in the darkest shadows of the night and can only be seen out of the corner of one's eye. These encounters begin to haunt John, transforming to complete terror as he discovers the entities' sole purpose... the abduction of his seven year old son. In the end, John will uncover the town's horrific secret, a portal on his land, and make one last attempt to save his son before the shadow people permanently take him away to their world. |

The script is the only thing that keeps this being below average, because everything else is pretty decent. Except for Brian Krause' hair. It kept switching between looking fairly natural with some grey to obviously died brown between scenes. The acting was good. I was surprised that there were a few recognizable faces. The big problem with it was that things don't really flow together. The plot was very fractured. The main character being a doctor was a huge part of the plot but the movie kept completely forgetting about it. It did also seem like they either got a little stingy with filming locations or decided at some point that they were going to pretend that Clarion was in the middle of nowhere instead of being a nice college town. |
