Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

Starring Disney channel star Ross Lynch as the future cannibal killer, the film is framed as a high-school dramedy about friendship and fitting in, luring viewers into sympathizing with Jeffrey and his struggles with his sexuality, his parents’ divorce, and his outcast status at school—until you remember, “oh yeah, that guy went on to murder 17 people.” By focusing entirely on the factors that influenced Dahmer’s madness and not its horrific consequences, My Friend Dahmer takes an alternative approach to true crime that raises questions of how future serial killings can be prevented. Oh, and it was shot in Jeffrey Dahmer’s real childhood home in Ohio, which is creepy and kind of cool.

My Friend Dahmer is based on Derf Backderf’s graphic-novel memoir of the same name and will open in the U.S. this fall.

A friend of mine got to see a screening of this and she said that it was one of the best of the year. I'm kind of jealous. I still haven't seen it.
