A nurse, a policeman, a young married couple, a salesman, and other survivors of a worldwide plague that is producing aggressive, flesh-eating zombies, take refuge in a mega Midwestern shopping mall.

One of the best horror remakes out there, despite it having fast zombies.

You're a fan of the slower ones huh? I personally enjoy all.

Agree one of the best remakes and zombie movies out there.

I also love the rest of Zack Snyder's work so it was great when I realized this was his movie when I went back and re-watched it.

Also also love all zombies, fast, slow, infected, dead, controlled by some priest type dude, whatever... masses of people trying to eat me is scary no matter what.

Hear hear! I love all types of zombie films too.

And TwistedFate, I do indeed prefer the slow moving ones. Their strength is in their quantity and ability to sneak up on ya.

This film was fantastic. Blood-drenched, sometimes scary, and it had great actors and a great balance of dark humor. One of my favorite remakes.

This is my favorite zombie film of all time.
I so cannot put my love for this movie into words. Like forreal. It has everything. A group of well drawn, realistic characters, tragic endings for many of the subplots, the best zombie effects since Day Of The Dead (1985) and one of the best third acts I've ever seen in a horror film.

It had mixed reviews, I'm pretty sure.

Probably my favorite zombie movie yet, and it's one of those movies I can re-watch over and over again.

Can't you see it? The effects of cinema violence on society?

Loved this movie. One of my favourite zombie movies and one of my favourite movies in general. I thought it was well paced, the characters were memorable and had a lot of good action :D

I see where you're coming from. However in House of the Dead (as bad as it was), when those zombies are running like rabid wolves through the woods after people, I think in real life that would be way scarier than something you can navigate through while texting lol.

Easily my favorite zombie movie, and it's just about tied as my favorite remake with The Hills Have Eyes. It did everything right, had great characters, great subplots, and amazing effects.

It's definitely one of the better remakes of an older horror film, I can say that much.

Vaguely remember seeing this years ago, and I need to re-watch, but I did buy it on DVD today, so it will be watched within the next few days whilst attempting to revise

I really liked this movie. I already reviewed it over here, so to keep it short: it's not as deep as the original, but it's still great entertainment.

And about fast vs. slow zombies, the thing that gets me about the slow zombies is that you can outrun them for now, but eventually, you're gonna have to stop and eat, or sleep, or crap, or find supplies. They just keep walking while you're waiting. It's the tortoise and the hare, only you're the hare, and the tortoise is trying to eat you.

Forgive me for sounding overly-modern but while I love the slow moving zombies and they ARE more eerie, the fast-moving "Olympic runner" style zombies are much more intense, terrifying, and tend to be even more unrelenting and viscious than most slow moving ones. I certainly hope that if a zombie apocalypse ever DOES happen in the real world, that we'll get the slow moving ones. (lol)

I love slow zombies but running zombies are horrifying, as John said.
