Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

Hmm. That kind of makes me want to buy the set but I still don't want to spend $30+ when I'm debating on buying the Scream Factory edition of this one and I already have copies of all of them. I might just wait a bit and see if special editions of 2, 3, and Bride are released before I buy anything else.

Still the best of the series, IMO, an imaginative take on tired slasher tropes. Brad Dourif's vocal performance helped immensely in making Chucky feel like a real threat. Director Tom Holland wisely played the material straight; the notion of a killer doll is so improbable and potentially laughable that had Holland even once winked at the audience, the movie wouldn't have worked. And the kid who played Andy (his name escapes me at the moment) was very good, too. He did some really convincing acting throughout, especially that moment when he breaks down crying that Chucky's going to kill him. That bit didn't look like acting at all, the kid looked and sounded absolutely terrified.

I didn't like a single sequel. None of them hold a candle to the original, for me.

Yeah, then if you've got the others then the set's not worth it. They just repackage all the other discs in one place and really go balls out on features for the first and the last three which are all ported over from other releases anyway. If you're in that situation I'd do the same.
Do illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup?

Some people are like slinkies: not good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one falls down the stairs.

I really wish John had been a bigger character. And I totally forgot just how scary Chucky looked when he was burned up but still alive. He's even scarier that way.
