Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.

Mr. Disgusting actually liked the movie O.o

"Also, I guess the box art let the cat out of the bag – I’ve seen the movie. While my review is forthcoming, I am allowed to reveal that I quite adored it. I promise that hardcore Child’s Play fans will gush over Curse of Chucky, and it’s also a great introduction to the character for younger audience. I seriously can’t wait to get my hands on the Blu-ray box set – I may explode before October comes."

Ooh. I like the sound of that. I have a feeling the Unrated will be the 90 minute one. The R-Rated will probably be 87 minutes or something like that.
I hope there's an actual difference and not just something tiny almost non-noticeable.

I'm happy with everything though a bit iffy on Chucky's face and movements, but meh, I'm more concerned about the kills and the bodycount.
Being honest in my opinion, I don't think the kills are going to be THAT special. I'm just expecting stabbings, gun shots, and maybe someone getting strangled.

I'm also not expecting a whole lot of gore, since the rating description is "bloody horror violence".

I think we'll get a "bit" more than a few stabbings and gun shots lol. The original film had more variety than that. That being said I'm not expecting super unique amazing kills or anything- still curious though!

So Chucky will end up looking like this half way through the movie-

I think it's a decent compromise for fans who love the original "clean" look and the stitches look as well.

The way the film is colored is beautiful. (yes) I have a feeling the house may be a favorite location of mine when it comes to the series.

The part with Chucky pushing whats-her-name in the wheelchair was fucking laughable. Urgh. Aside from that, the "wanna play", and his appearance in general, this seems good though.

I have a feeling one or two kills may stand out but no more than that.

As for the bodycount...well....the series isn't exactly known for high counts and I'm feeling that this will be no different.

CP1 = 5 deaths, including Charles.
CP2 = 7 deaths, including 1 offscreen.
CP3 = 7 deaths, including 1 offscreen and 1 heart attack.
Bride = 12 deaths, including 3 offscreen.
Seed = 12 deaths, including Britney's car crash, 3 random people offscreen, Jennifer Tilly hitting that one chick with the doll.

I'm guessing the bodycount of this will be 8 kills at the very most.

Just feels so good to have Chucky back solo, doing what he does best. 9 long years....smh....can't believe it. You've waited a long time Michele for this. ;)

Also pre-orders for The Complete Chucky collection with all six films!

I'm surprised they managed to do this since MGM owns the rights to the original film, I guess they decided to play nice.

The scenery looks amazing I agree with that.

I love Chucky's overall look for the second half of the film.

Any reasons why they pushed the DVD release to October 8th instead?

You too Derek!

God I'm a HUGE Chucky fan but I've at least had other horror sequels and reboots to entertain me over the past 9 years and Seed not exactly being my favorite also helped me not to focus on any future movies.

But for those true Chucky fans who had to deal with NOTHING for almost a decade...smh, damn. lol.

Special Features -

Gag Reel
• Playing with Dolls: The Making of Curse of Chucky
• Living Doll: Bringing Chucky to Life
• Voodoo Doll: The Chucky Legacy
• Storyboard Comparisons
• Feature Commentary with Director Don Mancini, Puppeteer Tony Gardner and Star Fiona Dourif (Both Versions)

I took this from the special features listed for the version that comes in the Complete Chucky Collection set that's being released. Idk if the stand alone Curse Of Chucky Bluray/DVD will have more features than those.

This is one big horror franchise that didn't go through the reboot/remake phase.

Yes! He looks very awkward in the first half lol. But I think his look for the second half of the movie looks great.

I love the special features! I always love gag reels for some reason. I also love how the trailer spoiled very little, saving the best for what's to come. I honestly think that Nina (wheelchair girl) will die in the beginning-ish based on the trailer, guessing she finds Chucky after a nightmare, goes to take him back to the blonde's room when he attacks her and pushes her down the stairs? Just a theory.

He does look awkward, but in a cute funny way. The second half look is great. I wonder how he gets the black eye.

Nope. It was close. I think in 2007 Don Mancini was talking about getting a remake off the ground with MGM but it never happened. Most likely due to all of MGM's big financial problems.
