Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.

This is one big horror franchise that didn't go through the reboot/remake phase.
Nope. It was close. I think in 2007 Don Mancini was talking about getting a remake off the ground with MGM but it never happened. Most likely due to all of MGM's big financial problems.
Hopefully if Curse is successful a remake/reboot will be considered or possibly a sequel depending on how it ends.

I love the special features! I always love gag reels for some reason. I also love how the trailer spoiled very little, saving the best for what's to come.
This! It was the perfect length. I hope a second trailer isn't released, this is more than enough. You get a great look at the film, get the jist of what it's about, and you get to see Chucky. That's all we need.

I shall now stay away from the spoilers or any other future trailers. (yes)

If they do make a second trailer, I hope it focuses more on the characters being shown with maybe one or two new shots of Chucky and maybe a second of Nina being attacked? As long as it isn't spoilery I won't mind.

Just watched the trailer, It looks really good, kinda bummed that it's going straight to DVD/Blu-Ray but I heard rumors that there's a remake planned in a few years so I guess it makes sense, still very impressed by this trailer, and I can't wait until october

Well Curse pretty much does what a remake would do anyway- Re-introduces Chucky to a new generation and goes for a much darker tone.

The remake was planned but they couldn't get it off the ground due to MGM's money woes so Don Mancini decided to go through Universal(who owns the sequel rights) and make Curse.

I imagine if this film is a hit the easiest thing would be to just make a sequel to Curse instead of doing a remake right after. Especially if this one really does leave things open for a continuation, I'd rather see that instead of them abandoning it for a retelling of the first movie.

Deleted scenes will also be on the DVD.

Do you guys like the box art? I think it's pretty decent, a little random, but not as horrible as some people are claiming it to be. I think them not showing Fiona's upper face is what makes it kinda odd lol

Jon, you know how much tickets cost in nyc. <_< times is hard for me with no job or money coming from my parents. I can't support even if I wanted to. And I was only telling carnage to support since I thought he/she is a big chucky fan like me. i didn't think he/she would just complain and just stream it. I will get money from my school fin aid just in time to get the dvd.

I was never able to see the chucky movies in theaters. Derek is lucky. my parents would never take me to horror movies when i was young. Even when seed was out, I couldn't see it. lol
And I am not a fan of the box art but it could be worse. It's still cool to have that poster for collection.
